All the SK8 The Infinity fans can finally take a breath of relief! Studio Bones and No Border animation studio recently confirmed that a new SK8 project is in production. The chances are high that this project is none other than SK8 The Infinity Season 2. Its debut season faced some production issues, but that didn’t stop the series from being a blockbuster. Now, fans are expecting that the skate racing competition will get even more intense when the anime return to the screens. So, when will the second season premiere? Here are all the latest details.

SK8 The Infinity is a Japanese adventure sport (skateboarding) anime TV series. Studio Bones produced the first twelve-part installment of this show. One of the best directors, Hiroko Utsumi helmed this project. Its very first episode came out on January 10, 2021. Whereas its season finale aired on April 4 of the same year. In March 2021, a manga adaptation of this anime has also been announced.

The first season of the sports anime surprised everyone with its stunning visuals, intriguing storyline, and nail-biting skateboarding scenes. As a result, it got a great score of 8.04 on MyAnimeList, and its overall rank is #504. Also, it has more than 348K members in its group on the same platform and is ranked at #474 in popularity. So, the return of the anime was kind of inevitable.

On July 4, the news finally came out that No Border animation studio and Studio Bones are working on a new SK8 project together. The speculations are that it is SK8 The Inifinity Season 2. Some sources are also indicating that this new project might be a movie. To hype this new project even more, they released a teaser as well that features all the characters.

What Will Happen Next?

In the ending moments of the debut season of this thrilling skateboarding anime, the viewers saw Langa winning the tournament after defeating Adams. He also reminded the latter, the main purpose of his skating. Besides, Langa even celebrated his big victory with his friends. Meanwhile, Shadow felt really upset when he learned that the florist he likes is dating someone else. In the post-credits scene, Tadashi told Adams he didn’t sell him out, but now he has to behave like his dog.

Now, SK8 The Infinity Season 2 will feature Langa going to Tokyo along with his friends and participate in the S Downhill Skating competition. Also, they will get to meet skaters who are on an entirely different level in Tokyo. Koyomi’s journey of skateboarding will also kick off in the new season. So, the fans can expect to see an episode dedicated to snowboarding as well.

Since the production of the anime’s second season has already begun, it is likely that the new episodes will not take very long to hit the screens. If the production continues smoothly without any interruption or delays, then SK8 The Infinity Season 2 might release in Winter 2023. We will update this section whenever the official release date comes out.
