Clint is the local Blacksmith and is one of the most important people you will ever meet in Stardew Valley. He is responsible for upgrading your tools as well as opening any of the geodes that you bring to him. It is impossible to progress in the game without upgrading your tools therefore Clint is very important if you want to progress further in the game. Even though Clint is a talented blacksmith he does not like his job. He would much rather work outdoors but since his father gave him this business he feels that it is his duty to keep the shop running. Clint’s Schedule: Clint is usually in his shop and rarely leaves. He stays there from 9 am to 7 pm after which he leaves to go to the saloon. He comes back home at 1 am. If you manage to restore the Community Center Clint will not be at his shop on Fridays instead he will be in the boiler room of the Center. His shop closes at 4 pm so it is advisable to complete all your transactions with him before he closes. He spends a lot of time in the saloon because Emily works there and Clint has a crush on Emily. Clint’s Gift Guide: Clint is a simple man and loves getting gifts which are originally from the mines. You should give him Topaz, geode, Amethyst, Fiddlehead Risotto, Aquamarine, Ruby, Gold Bar, Emerald, Jade, Artichoke Dip, Iridium Bar, Iron Bar, Copper Bar as well as any Universal Loves and Likes. You should not give him Wild Horseradish, Salmonberry, Quartz or any Universal Hates or Dislikes. Clint’s Quests: There are two quests in which Clint actively seeks out your help. The first one is on the 6th of Winter in which he asks you to give Emily an Amethyst on his behalf because he is too shy to do it himself. This gives you a friendship heart with Clint. The second quest is on the 17th of winter in which he asks you to bring him an Iron bar. When you deliver the bar you will get 500 gold and another friendship heart. Clint also asks for stuff on the notice board in front of Pierre’s shop. The reward for these side quests is usually thrice the amount of the product as well as 150 friendship points. Clint may also ask you to slay some monsters in the caves but the reward varies from monster to monster. Clint’s Heart Events: There are 3 events which take place during the course of your friendship with Clint. The first one is at 3 hearts and Clint asks for your help with girls in the saloon. At 6 hearts you catch Clint spying on Emily and you convince him to man up and tell her how he feels. The 7th heart event is just a recipe for Bean Hotpot which is delivered into your mailbox. Clint is a very useful person and you should try to stay on good terms with him as he helps you out a lot while upgrading your tools.
