About Integrated Sciences

UBC Integrated Sciences crosses disciplinary boundaries and allows you to create your own degree in science. It offers extensive and careful advice on your curriculum choices and overall educational objectives. Core courses are taught by highly rated instructors, and faculty mentors stay in touch with students throughout, and often after their degree. The opportunities and responsibilities of creating your own individualized degree are significant.

Program Details

During second year, you'll work with a dedicated advisor to complete a program application consisting of a vision statement and curriculum rationale. The program's core courses are highly interactive and generally stress active learning, group discussion and collaborative research. A fourth-year capstone course provides a platform where you can reflect on your interdisciplinary degree proposal, apply it to the real world, and share findings with the scientific community. The program’s flexibility and mentoring support are invaluable--recent graduates have continued on to careers in health, law, education, business and the public sector.
