SYN: Goldstein-Hogness box A DNA sequence (concensus TATAAA) at about minus 25 (ie. 25 nucleotides upstream of the transcription start site) in the promoter region of many eukaryotic genes involved in binding RNA polymerase via a TATA binding protein. Analogous to the Pribnow box in prokaryotes.
