We are halfway through TFT‘s 5th set, Reckoning, which was released in April 2021, and Riot is now slowly starting to share news about the next mid-set.

The story of Reckoning will continue with the 5.5 mid-set, which has been officially revealed by Riot Games today. Players will once again join either Chaos Pengu and the Black Mist or team up with Pengu and the forces of Order in a culmination of the story once the update goes live.

The mid-set will bring a set of new champions and traits, but that’s not all as this mid-set will also feature a new mechanic because TFT developers think that the set “needs more variance”.

The reveal trailer didn’t show the new mechanic, but we expect it to be revealed in the upcoming weeks.

What has been revealed is that Teamfight Tactics will finally get an observer mode in autumn, a feature that has been requested since the release of the game, which will help tournament organizers to produce high-quality broadcasts more easily.

When is the Teamfight Tactics 5.5 mid-set update releasing?

Riot Games confirmed that the Reckoning mid-set update is slated for release on 21st July 2021, as a part of Patch 11.15.
