Vision To honor God as a model of comprehensive excellence in NCAA Division II athletics.   Mission The Oklahoma Baptist University Athletic Department is committed to transforming the lives of our student-athletes by cultivating Christ-like character and encouraging them to develop their God-given athletic abilities to their maximum potential. This will be accomplished through a commitment to EXCELLENCE, SERVICE, VALUE and INFLUENCE.   Core Values The long-term success of the Athletics Department, as well as the university at large, is dependent upon our collective commitment to these core values. These will serve as the guiding principles for every decision and action, and the multiplication of these values will secure the future success of OBU. Excellence We will pursue excellence in everything we do because a commitment to that standard honors God and provides an example to others. Service We are called to serve, not to be served. We will serve our student-athletes, our university, our community, and the cause of Christ in our world. Influence We will maximize our influence with our program’s key stakeholders to promote a positive image of Oklahoma Baptist University. We will be intentional and persistent in nurturing a cohesive culture that reinforces our strategic values. Philosophy The Oklahoma Baptist University Athletics Department is committed to comprehensive excellence, encompassing the competitive, academic, spiritual, and social development of our student-athletes. Participation in intercollegiate athletics at a distinctively Christian liberal arts university provides a unique and valuable supplement to the college experience by providing enhanced opportunities for spiritual, social, and emotional growth, athletic achievement, leadership development, and commitment to principles of discipline, integrity, honor, character, and teamwork.
