    Tongue colour?

Odd question. Do balls' tongues stay pink, or do they change with age? It seems like my guy's tongue is turning black, but I can't get a good look at it because I value my life and he's not too keen on things near his head, let alone poking around his mouth. So am I hallucinating, or does this happen? Do balls even HAVE black tongues? Help!

Far as I know they stay pink. Could be some random pigment? Are only the tips black? I've seen snakes with black tongue tips..

    Re: Tongue colour?

Its most likely just pigment the snake was born with, i dont think it has anything to do with age, i know a 21 year old bp and her tounge is as pink as mine. Roxy has a bit of light brown coloring on the tips of her tounge.

Maybe I'm hallucinating. It just seemed last time I had him out that the tips looked blacker than normal, but he flicks it so fast it's hard to tell. I just thought I'd ask since I've never really seen that discussed before. Thanks for the tips.
