Using bitmaps as texture

- [Instructor] Sometimes you'll need to use bitmaps as your textures, and this is great if you want to use photographic or painted textures. So let's take a look at how to bring in bitmaps, as well as how to control the way they appear on your object. So I have a very, very simple object here and it's a simple plane. And we're just going to apply a Lambert material. So I'm going to go into my rendering shelf and just press Lambert. And that should bring us into this material. So we want to work with a bitmap, so let's put that into the color channel. So I'm going to click on the little checker box here. And then under create render node, we're going to select file. That brings us into the file menu, and we can select our file here. And for this one we're going to use Road.jpg. Click open. And then if we want to see this, make sure we hit the number six, or turn on hardware texturing. And there's our road. Now…
