Vietnam Veterans’ Day recognises the invaluable contribution of Australians who served and sacrificed in the Vietnam War. This years' service marks the 60th anniversary of the Battle of Long Tan. In this battle D Coy, 6RAR fought an overwhelming enemy force suffering 42 casualties, including 18 killed. The service will commence at the RAAF and Vietnam memorial trees with the laying of wreaths at 10:30am, followed by an 11am commemorative service on the Second World War Memorial Forecourt.

Approximately 60,000 Australians served in the Vietnam War. Of these, 3,000 were wounded, and 521 were killed.

This service is organised by the Victorian branch of the Vietnam Veterans Association.

All are welcome to attend and join in remembering our Vietnam Veterans.
