Al pastor
Al pastor (from Spanish, "shepherd style"), also known as tacos al pastor, is a dish developed in central Mexico that is based on shawarma spit-grilled meat brought by Lebanese immigrants to Mexico. Being derived from shawarma, it is also similar to the Turkish döner kebab and the Greek gyros. In contrast to döner kebab and shawarma however, tacos al pastor are pork based. In some places of northern Mexico, as in Baja California, this taco is called taco de adobada. A similar dish from Puebla with different spices is tacos árabes.

al pastor
Al Pastor is a classic Mexican dish typically made with marinated pork that is slowly cooked on a vertical spit or rotisserie. It is heavily influenced by Middle Eastern shawarma, brought to Mexico by Lebanese immigrants. The pork is usually seasoned with a blend of spices and marinated with a mixture of garlic, onions, achiote, and various citrus juices. The meat is then thinly sliced and served in tacos or other Mexican dishes, often accompanied by pineapple, onions, cilantro, and salsa for added flavor.

You are always on call, and more and more roles are foisted upon pastors. They’re not just studying God’s word, praying, visiting the congregation, they’re expected to be CEO, CFO types who cast vision, manage staff, create strategic partnerships. There is a lot of burnout.

I think the fact that he’s a pastor is not lost on this story, and whether you’re religious or not, one thing to me has been very clear in dealing with cancer patients, and that is the patient attitude clearly affects hormonal levels in the body and their immune system— if someone is very worried or very negative, you get a release of chemicals in the body that are unhealthy for your body and immune system, whether it was his belief that he would do better, belief that divine intervention would help him do better, or whether it was actually divine intervention, obviously we don’t know, but it’s very clear that attitude makes a real difference in outcome with cancer.
Terri Flowers:
The message is resonating, there have been people who told me, I wasn't going to do it Pastor, but after hearing from you, I decided to go ahead and get vaccinated, so I praise God for that.
