The infamous drink has been around since 2003, but if you're one of those strange beings who's never tried one before, now is the time to figure out what Starbucks' Pumpkin Spice Latte tastes like. The answer to many aficionados is that it tastes, simply, like what you think fall tastes like... or maybe we've drank so many PSLs that Starbucks just made us think that's what fall tastes like; who knows?

The Pumpkin Spice Latte is like an autumnal party for your taste buds. Fans of the drink are probably aware of Starbucks changing their PSL recipe — for the better — in 2015. Instead of using artificial flavorings, the 'Bucks opted for using real pumpkin and no caramel coloring.

This shift to a more natural drink has made the Pumpkin Spice Latte even tastier. With hints of cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove, you'll feel like your right at home wearing a cozy sweater, even if you're still struggling with humidity and 90-degree weather.

Aside from that general flavor profile, you can make the PSL totally your own with your own specifications. So if dairy really isn't your thing, for example, you can opt for enjoying your PSL with a milk alternative — which will probably kick up the flavor profile up a notch. You can also consider doing something like adding espresso for a little kick or holding the whip if the original recipe seems like just a tad too much sugar for you.

And if you can't get enough of the pumpkin-y taste, you can get versions of the PSL with your groceries as Starbucks is now selling the Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino Chilled Coffee Drink and Pumpkin Spice Flavored Ground Coffee. With those options, it's even easier to make the PSL taste totally your own.

Ugh, can the Pumpkin Spice Latte just a be a regular on Starbucks' menu? I can't bear saying goodbye again this year.
