Messages 2,759 Reaction score 6,332 Location Erie County ( Western New Yorkistanifornia ) so I was bored at work today and got to thinking, what is the loudest caliber you can shoot out of a 16” barrel with a big muzzle brake? Like if I wanted to build an AR15 with a 16” barrel simply for the purpose of being loud and lots of muzzle flash. I’m thinking maybe 450 bushmaster or 50 Beowulf?

Well 300 blackout with subsonics would probably be the quietest caliber. I’m talking if I simply wanted to make an obnoxiously loud AR15 with a 16” barrel what the loudest caliber would be lol

U.S. Military Messages 21,660 Reaction score 30,292 Location Cambria co. PA High pressure cartridges are the loudest. Cartridges that are underbore are also usually louder than average. I'd bet the .204 Ruger is quite loud. ARs chambered in calibers such as 22-250 and .243 are probably also extremely loud.

Yeah I do believe some places will even modify a standard upper but hell you can get a big bore poverty pony upper for like $90 so why not just get a dedicated one vs paying someone to fuck around with a stock ar15 You must log in or register to reply here.
