Budget supermarket Aldi has altered the opening times of its stores to give its staff time to restock shelves and clean its stores.

Supermarkets across the country have saw huge demand from shoppers during the coronavirus pandemic with toilet rolls, tinned foods and hand sanitisers among products sold out across many stores.

As a result, many retailers have changed its opening hours and reduced trading hours to allow staff to get new stock out on to the shop floors.

Aldi changed its operating hours on Friday, March 20 with stores closing earlier than usual.

‌

With the government's latest announcement, in which he put the country on lockdown and informed people they were only allowed to do one essential shop, we're guessing many shoppers will now be trying to work out the best time to visit their local stores.

We are still getting reports of queues outside Aldi stores before it opens so evening or late afternoon may be a better time to visit.

We've taken a look at Aldi's opening times to help you plan your next food shop.

All Aldi stores will now close at 8pm Monday- Friday and 4pm on Sunday.

This includes its St Johns Shopping Centre store, Old Swan store and Smithdown Road store too. You can find your nearest Aldi store here.
