I am 5 weeks today, and still able to drink coffee (half-caff) this morning without being disgusted. With my son, I was 5 weeks when I developed my aversion. With my miscarriage, I never got a coffee aversion. So... now I'm getting really nervous. I WANT A COFFEE ADVERSION!

I have other adversions throughout the day, but nothing as strong as I know the coffee one is.

When did your coffee aversion begin?!?!?!

I, luckily, do not have any aversions yet. I just gave up my coffee cold-turkey. I've had maybe a couple cups of decaf since but it didn't bother me. However, when I was talking to my husband last night he was drinking coffee and it really made me want a cup, lol. Do most people get a coffee aversion? I didn't know that was a common thing.

I would drink a cup every morning through my whole pregnancy...except I can not even handle the smell now. Started right at week 6.

But I pretty much have an aversion to everything now, too. Sad. Makes life pretty miserable. It was the same with my first pregnancy. I drank a cup of black tea to replace my coffee...and will do that now too.

  • aAnythingoes10 Posted 02-23-12I'm 8w today and dont have any particular aversions just yet. I stopped drinking coffee a few weeks ago though so I cant be sure about that one

with my previous pg i had small aversions later in my second trimester.

    Remember every pregnancy is differant.

I'm 6w5d, and just this past Monday when I poured myself a cup and drank it, it made me feel AWFUL. So for lent I gave it up -- win/win I do say!

I'm still confused what the sudden problem is with coffee?

With #1, my exH forbid me to drink coffee because he said "It'll make the baby hyperactive", so I'd sneak out and have it when he wasn't around.

With #2, I craved espressos and had them every day.

With #3, I had a coffee aversion during my second trimester. It disappeared as suddenly as it appeared.

With #4, I loved, loved, loved my sweet, milky coffee.

With #5 I'm only at 5 weeks, but I certainly don't have any aversions. My morning coffee is the only thing that calms down my stomach. I limit it to mornings only, but that's simply so I can sleep at night.

I'm glad to see some of you never developed an aversion to coffee, or got one a little later on in your pregnancies. I felt like it was a telltale sign of a healthy pregnancy, since your body will tell you when it's something that should be avoided. I also assumed since I had it with my healthy pregnancy (and not my miscarriage) that it meant your body was doing what it was supposed to do.

In any case, still praying for that coffee aversion, even if it's just to settle my mind! :)

I think it was five weeks for me. I have a little but it doesn't taste good and makes me sick!

  • member avatarmarimck Posted 02-23-12I took a pg test at 9dpo because I had a coffee and it made me want to vomit. BFP!
