Fans will have to wait a little longer for the forthcoming Valorant update, as the developers want to focus on fixing the game engine.

Contrary to what fans would have expected, the latest Valorant patch will take longer to arrive, as Riot Games has mentioned that they will break the usual patch cycle to update the game engine.

In a statement made on social media, the developers revealed that they will push back the upcoming Valorant patch a week to make room for some maintenance. What sort of supervision they will be doing remains to be seen, but don't get your hopes up for a massive overhaul of Valorant if that's what you're expecting.

We’re skipping our regular patch cadence this week to allow our engineers the time they need to upgrade our game engine.

Think of them fixing the game engine as background maintenance and not much else. Maybe they'll announce better FPS optimization or some pesky bugs finally leaving the game. Unless they have something massive in store, keep your expectations in check.

With the news of the update being delayed seven days, expect Valorant patch 5.03 to drop on August 9. What will be the contents of it? We don't know for sure and we can only speculate for the time being.

  • Can You Go Offline In Valorant?

Some fans have been clamoring for big balance changes, particularly revolving around Chamber, as the Agent feels very oppressive to the point that teams have forgone using duelists altogether at a pro level in certain maps because the Sentinel is just that multifaceted.

Others have petitioned that Riot changes their latest map, Pearl, as they believe areas of the map feel too oppressive or like a hard commit for either team - Long B, the very stretched corridor of the map in particular has been singled out as a core issue with Pearl's design.

As it stands, Riot did confirm players should not expect a Pearl rework anytime soon. As for Chamber, we can only hope and wait for proper balance changes.
