White MageBy Shawn Saris Leah B. Jackson+21.9k moreUpdated: Sep 14, 2013 5:00pm UTC

Lore

White magic, the arcane art of succor, was conceived eras past that the world might know comfort. Alas, man began perverting its powers for self-gain, and by his wickedness brought about the Sixth Umbral catastrophe. Although the art subsequently became forbidden, it is now in the midst of a revival at the hands of the Padjal, chosen of the elementals.

Those who would walk the path of the white mage are healers without peer, possessed of the power to deliver comrades from the direst of afflictions—even the icy grip of death itself.

In order to become a White Mage, characters must have a level 30 Conjurer and a level 15 Arcanist.

Combat Role

White mages are powerful casters whose talents enable them to fully restore the HP of all party members in a mere instant. Beyond healing, they can also apply their MP towards attack magic, granting them extremely powerful offensive abilities.

A White Mage's most important stat is mind, which increases their healing magic potency.

Skills

White Mages receive additional abilities to augment their healing ability. They also receive the powerful Holy spell.  When equipping the White Mage class, players will receive a bonus to both HP and MP over their Conjurer stats, however will not see an increase to their Mind or Determination stats.  Unlike some other advanced jobs, the White Mage offers clear and full bonuses over and above every base Conjurer ability, with the only downside being limited to five cross-class skills (as opposed to 10).  As such, it is superior to the base Conjurer class in every way.

White Mages can access cross-class abilities from the Thaumaturge and Arcanist classes.
