Why do I get bleached underwear?
This is something most people with a vagina will encounter at some point in their lives. Most people don’t feel comfortable talking about it as it’s seen as ‘dirty’ or ‘abnormal’ - but it is quite the opposite.
Bleaching in underwear occurs due to the acidity of vaginal discharge. Discharge is completely normal and a part of the vagina’s self cleaning process.
A healthy vagina is pH 3.8 - 4.5 during your reproductive years. The acidity comes from the bacteria that live in your vagina and is a sign of good health.
