Biology
A rolling Wooloo
Wooloo is a black ovine Pokémon with a thick coat of white wool that makes it look spherical. Its small head pokes out of the front of the wool, along with two short horns. Wooloo's eyes have yellow sclerae, black irises, and white, horizontal pupils. Two large ears are visible behind gray strings of wool that resemble braided pigtails. Wooloo's wool covers its entire body and most of its short hooved legs, along with a tail that is barely visible on its rear end.
Wooloo's fleece is extremely fluffy and can serve as a cushion, allowing it to survive even a fall from a cliff without any injuries. Its fur grows continuously, being able to fully grow back in just three months after it is completely shaved. The fur is a specialty product in Galar, being used for clothing and carpets; the clothing made from Wooloo's wool has a remarkable strength. If Wooloo's fur grows too long, it will be unable to move. Wooloo live in herds and are known to mimic the actions of their herd leader or Trainer. They have a friendly disposition and dislike conflict, and can escape from enemies by simply rolling away.[1] Yamper is used to herd Wooloo.

Trivia
Icon of Daily Discovery
The company logo for Daily Discovery depicts a silhouette of a lock of hair from Wooloo.
Origin
Wooloo is based on a sheep,[2] perhaps specifically black-faced breeds of domestic sheep. The shape of its wool resembles a cotton ball. The grey hair on the sides of its head appear to be stylized in form of braids.
In an interview with Gamer.nl, Pokémon Sword and Shield director Shigeru Ohmori mentioned that one challenge present when designing Wooloo is the existence of Mareep, another Pokémon designed after sheep.[2]
Name origin
Wooloo may be a combination of wool and loom. It may also be derived from the Japanese name.
Wooluu may be derived from ウール ūru (wool) with the final vowel elongated.
