Mark ‘Markiplier’ Fischbach – a 31-year-old American YouTuber – revealed that he will be starring and co-producing a TV series titled The Edge of Sleep. Markiplier will star in the series alongside actors Analeigh Tipton and Eve Harlow.
The TV series plot is inspired by Markiplier’s post-apocalyptic podcast series The Edge of Sleep – which was released in collaboration with the audio studio QCode – who is best known for its apocalyptic thriller Blackout which featured Rami Malek.

The mystery thriller series revolves around a night watchman who realizes that everyone who fell asleep the previous night during his work shift has passed away. The watchman soon finds a few others that survived the night and attempts to discover the terrifying cause of death before they all fall asleep.
Markiplier is one of the most well-known YouTubers with an overall fan base of 50.9 million across YouTube, Twitter and Instagram. His massive viewership led him to create his own show A Heist With Markiplier – which was filmed in partnership with YouTube. He also frequently hosts fundraisers – notably raising $500,000 within a day for a homeless youth group My Friend’s Place.
The TV series will be directed by Corey Adams and is set to begin filming in May 2021 in Kamloops, British Columbia. New Regency – who has previously worked on popular films such as The Revenant and The Beast Must Die – will be the studio for the upcoming series.
