Hi. I have this error shown in vcds,and this causes that backlight is not turned ON on a radio when light switch is turned ON. During the night, this causes froustration as i cannot see radio. After error is deleted, backlight on a radio is back again, until the next ignition start. Error is back again, and backlight is once again not working anymore. New battery just installed, no changes.

One more thing that i noticed today. Dimmer switch is not responding with turning. Dashboard lights are working, but they cannot bi dimmed. Headlight up/down works fine.

That is the switch attached in the picture. You think this is related to radio backlight not working also?

The fault certainty explains the dashboard dimming not working. I would expect the headunit to default to the backlight being on though. Check the dimmer control and the wiring to see if you can fix that code.

 

From your other scan, the communication errors might be related to the headunit issues.

What do you mean by headunit? Where is this placed? Regarding the dimmer, my father has the same octavia, i will switch with his dimmer and see if it is any better.

Headunit is another name for the stereo or radio

Yes. Like i said, after error is deleted, radio backlight is working and Error is immediatly shown again. As soon as you start engine once again, backlight is off again. I have even tried to connect other stream radio to my car, and until radio code apeared, the screen was also without backlight. I didnt have a code, so i couldnt test in full

 

I am sure that this error causes radio backlight not working. I can only try to remove this dimmer and replace it with dimmer in fathers octavia. I hope it is not difficult to remove it from the dashboard.

Just to let all know that changing the light dimmer switch did the trick. I bought a used switch for 8 euros replaced with the old one and now it works. (Radio backlight)
