#1 · May 9, 2022 I just bought my 2006 FXT Limited in December 2021. Non-branded H1 LED's were already in the Low Beams. the High Beams are stock and original Halogens. I was VERY impressed with the brightness and beam pattern and was planning to try and match what is in there for the HB 9005's, and this morning I noticed that the driver's side (aka harder to replace) Low Beam LED has failed. I was told that the bulbs were roughly 6-7 months old when I bought the car. So that one lasted about 1 year. I removed the passenger LED and it doesn't have an markings other than a serial # tag on on of the wires. I'm wanting to know what brands people have gone with and found exceptional bulb life. Thanks ~Rob Sort by Oldest first Oldest first Newest first Most reactions #2 · May 9, 2022 Your headlights were not designed for LED bulbs. They are unsafe, and illegal in all 50 states. The reason that one burned out so quickly is that is unbranded junk, made in you know where. Get the Philips X-tremeVision bulbs, or go a step down in the Philips line if you favor longevity over maximum brightness. Check out the Daniel Stern lighting Consultancy for information on LED conversions. He'll also sell proper halogen bulbs to you. Daniel Stern Lighting Consultancy and Supply #3 · May 10, 2022

I am full aware of Mr. Stern, his opinions, and Store. You are partly correct: the life expectancy is 100% because of-shore knock offs. Hence whyI opened with the LED's being already installed at purchase. Moderators please close this thread, it will obviously go no where. ~Rob 0 Reply #4 · May 10, 2022 Sylvania, Osram, Philips all make fine H1 bulbs. The basics, sometimes tagged LL or Long Life last the longest with less hassle. All the +brightness models, or blue film reduced light models over compensate with shorter life filaments. e.g.

www.walmart.com #5 · May 10, 2022 Given a large percentage of LED's are made in China, it's kind of a crap shoot even with the better brands. But then unfortunately sometimes the Chinese stuff is better than elsewhere. All I can say is trial and error. At least you had good luck with LED bulbs for low beams. All of them I tried in my projector housings were worse than the H11 bulbs. I ended up going with HID. They were not highend units, but I never had one burn out. #6 · May 10, 2022 I've tried Hikari leds in my pathfinder and they seemed to be ok. I had it in there over a year without any problems then I sold the car #7 · Jun 12, 2022 I bought AUXITO LED LIGHT 9005/HB3 on eBay. cost me about $40.00 with tax and shipping. They work GREAT. Very Bright White. I tried some cheap eBay leds and they lasted about one day. You get what you pay for. You have insufficient privileges to reply here.
