For this segment, the Mercedes S Class rules! It wins hands down, style and substance, inside and out!

Tipu punya profile… 7 Series for the boring, dull young punks, S Class for the classy gentlemen who know the finer things in life…

Dull Young punk? dude, If u can ever drive a 7 series you aint dull man. Both cater for different segment and taste. S-class is for gentlemen but not classy, in Malaysia its cater to more China man mentality or business uncle. You wanna walk about Classy, Jag XJ is the one that ooze sexiness and classiness out of a man.

well said bro many delusional boy racers young punks who can never afford 7 series talking nonsense. In reality if they have the money they would probably opt for Panamera etc
S Class is the real deal, in this league 7 series will just be a follower and never will be the leader of this class like S Class
The new S class is sheer opulence, luxury and class whereas this 7 series LCI is not even close but i have to admit this LCI is better than the previous S Class facelift
anyway to be fair we will have to wait for the all new 7 Series to compare against the latest S Class. but for now i think this LCI is slightly better than the current XJ and A8

i argue the 7 series specially the lwb version has really a scary presence on the road..it literally fills up the whole lane..these cars all about presence and personality n never about beauty…

S class rules in terms of what?
The 7 still beats it in terms of performance and drivability.
It all depends what aspect the buyer is looking for.

I am a BMW fan but honestly, the new Mercedes S class is WAY WAY ABOVE the 7 series. The next generation 7 series has a lot to live up to.

Some of the safety features are already on Volvo earlier on and a much lower price car.

Yep Volvo was the first to bring in some of the technology and I was hoping some of these technology would have debuted in the 5 Series LCI to make it more competitive but all it got was adaptive xenons which was way overdue for a car in that class.
Here’s me hoping the next gen 5 Series will have some of these goodies as standard and the smaller brother 3 Series finally getting adaptive xenons and possibly comfort access and adaptive suspension to match the end of life A4 that has all of those as standard!

About time. The pre-update 7 series felt a bit empty in terms of tech, and the very thin steering rim felt cheap.
Now, time to trickle the tech to the F10 too.

Too complicated car for the chauffeur. Even the boss sit behind don’t appreciate it. Better make more gadget behind rather than improving driver experience. Chauffeur normally won’t understand much as they’re medium educated person.

The improvements are meant for the safety. It does not matter whether the car is driven by the owner or the chauffeur. No amount of creature comforts at the back seat will save the occupants in a collision. To presume that safety measures are not important to the ‘boss at the back’ is ridiculous. If one can afford a car like this one wants to be safe. Also, don’t look down on chauffeurs, it’s an honest living. I know of some who get to drive around in Jaguars and Maseratis.

You forgot to think that the Volvo is just a sedan to be driven by the masses but this car here is a long wheel base version meant to be chauffeured around like a boss and is on the same level with the A8 and S Class which a whole different league compared to the Volvo S60.

All of the safety features should be standard on all cars in Malaysia.

Don’t compare the latest S class with this 7 series as the new S class is one generation ahead. Wait till the new 7 rolls out in two years time, I’m pretty sure it’ll beat the S class in many aspects.
My main criticism on Mercedes is they always produce cars with a dull steering feedback, not to mention average engine performance for the price they charge.

U r right in steering feedback. I have an F10 and my uncle is driving Audi A7. Damn, I have test driven both back to back and its exactly like what Euro journalist always said. Audi’s steering feedback is dull and sometimes you have no idea where you are turning. While BMW, only 5 series, gave you a better feedback and with Integral Active Steering it gave you even better handling on the road.Compared to Audi, BMW has smaller turning circle and better steer. Audi tend to have slight under steer.
