Volvo has been manufacturing the V70 mid-size station wagon since 1997. Production of the second generation of these five door wagons was begun in 2000 and continued on until 2007. As much as Volvo drivers love these Swedish made vehicles, including the XC70 made in 2003, some problems have made them seek the help of a professional mechanic.

One issue that has been encountered by these Volvo drivers is a problem with the electronics of the vehicle. All the car lights, including dashboard, interior and exterior lights, flicker continually. Also, if the owner uses any additional components that draws on the electrical power of the car, the vehicle stalls out. This has been reported to occur while driving on the road.

This problem occurs despite the battery displaying a full charge. Obviously, this is a serious problem that needs to be addressed. Losing power in the middle of driving on the highway will put the driver and others on the road at risk for serious injury or worse. This is not a problem that can be put off and needs to be addressed before the car is driven for even a short distance.

If you are the owner of a Volvo, second generation V70 or XC70 and are experiencing failing or flickering interior and exterior lights and a vehicle that shuts off while driving, you should take your vehicle in for an inspection and evaluation by an independent Volvo repair specialist. You may be able to save money over the dealership while still getting great service and care.
