4x4 Light on e53 m54 engine. No related codes on 1.4.0 HELP Hi, been trying to figure it out for a about a week with no results. The only Light is on is 4x4, no ABS, no Brake. JUST 4X4. I just did service on Transmission with a full flush and filter. I also did take T-case off to see if there is a leak on the seal (No leaks). I didn't flush t-case, same fluid. Everything is plugged in, checked it 3 times. Did full left and right turn of the steering wheel, no results. The only codes I get for T-case: Oil abrasion 54C6 No CAN massage 55C4 And AWD works, I tested it while filling the transmission on the lift. All 4 wheels turn in D and Reverse. Also on LCM green light is flashing constantly , all the lights work, but it keeps flashing when in Auto position. No LCM codes. NO Steering Angle sensor codes. For some reason i think it's something has to do with leveling sensors that are on R front and R rear control arms. I just trying to figure it out. Did the simple stuff, steering lock to lock. Nothing helped. Can you help me out. Lead me to the right direction. I don't want to start throwing parts at it. Thank you Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk Last edited by 11b3v; 10-15-2017 at 01:32 AM. Reply With Quote

I'm going to assume no CAN message means no communication with DSC module, can anybody else chime in? that would definitely trigger a lamp. Reply With Quote

I just cleared VTG codes for T-case and they cleared. So now I got 0 codes for t-case. 4x4 light is still ON. EGS transmission NO codes Steering angle sensor NO codes LCM NO codes VTG t-case NO codes I have no idea what to do now. Where to look. LCM still flashing green light on Auto, but NO codes. If all codes are gone then drive it and see if the light resets. When I changed the battery on my X5 the light came on. Moving 50 feet and it reset. __________________ Just BMW's - All cars and trucks was two pages long 1994 318is 1997 528i 2000 323i 2001 X5 3.0 auto 2005 X5 3.0 auto 2011 535xi auto 2013 X5 xdrive35 Turbo More are at my website Aftermarket E53 Radio Install Reply With Quote

Doesn't the "oil abrasion" error mean it's time to change the oil in the transfer case? Assuming it's XDrive (an LCI or facelift car). And once this oil has been changed, only DIS (or maybe Rheingold) can be used to reset the transfer case adaptations and the error? Not sure on this though... __________________ Wayne 2005 BMW X5 3.0d (b 02/05) 2001 BMW F650GS Dakar (b 06/01) Reply With Quote

Don't know what year you have but leveling sensor arms can reverse when you lower the vehicle back on the wheels. In my experience more than the 4x4 light comes on but they are easy to check to see if they are facing in the right direction. The arms at least on a 2002 face toward the outside. __________________ X5 4.6 2002 Black Sap, Black interior. 2013 X5M Melbourne Red, Bamboo interior Dallas Reply With Quote
