Staff member Just FYI... paint color names may vary in different regions/markets. For example color code #512 is referred to as Almandine Red in Europe, but in the USA / North American market it was referred to as Garnet Red Metallic. Ditto with Rosewood & Canyon Brown; Bornite & Wineberry/Blackberry, and a number of others.

Member I've had problems with this before. I cannot seem to get any local paint shops to mix the body clad color. Do I just drop the first Digit and give them a 3 digit code? I said "7201" and they have no idea. Maybe I should have said "201" ?? This would be for my 1994 with 149 polar white.need2speed

Staff member Dean, your 1994 E500 has Parchment interior, per the North American (USA/Canada) sales brochures (color/paint brochure). The datacard, EPC, or other docs may refer to this as "mushroom" but that is not the correct name on this side of the pond. Cream-Beige color was used through 1993 on the 124 chassis, for interior code x75. Parchment color was used as of 1994 on the 124 chassis, for interior code x75. Mushrooms belong in Chinese food.

Staff member Dean, don't mind GSXR ... he's got sort of a "tic" when it comes to things parchment/mushroom/cream-beige/champignon ... hence my little "mushroom" joke with the smilie in my post above.

Staff member Yes the whole mushroom/cream-beige thing is guaranteed to "get a rise" out of you. But I think it's the wrong kind of rise. Of course, the rest of us "get a rise" out of things like superchargers, HammerWagens and 6.0-liter M119s, but to each their own .....need2speed

Member Sorry to regurgitate an old thread but its time for some cleanup on my 92 500e. Not a new owner but I am going back to stock color on the cladding and seeing contradictory info in threads. In this post it shows 6858 Tropical Green as the lower color for the Malachite/Spruce Green. I have also seen folks reference Kiwi Green 6211 as the lower color. Which is correct? Is the 6211 for cars other than 500e.Duh_Vinci

Member Based on the production data: https://www.500eboard.co/forums/wiki/?title=500E-Paint-Codes-and-number-of-each-color / Looks like this would be 1 of 5 cars that had the 475 Nutria Metallic upper color. Love this color combo and like Dave mentioned, Nutria Metallic with a Brazil interior would be perfect.PJmak

Member Im looking to break down a few paint codes into toners that are used to mix that specific color. For example, obsidian black consists of: -black -white -blue pearl -green pearl ....... Is there a website where I can find this information or do I need to go to a local automotive paint shop?puchak

Member I felt like this would be relevant in here. Is there a color code worth bothering with the pre-facelift bumper insert? Many of these inserts are so faded, it is pretty much gray.TimL

Can they be swapped, is that center piece that is color coded on the newer and usually dark gray/black on the older models an insert? Can it be transplanted onto a bumper from a newer car? Is it possible and is it practical from a labor standpoint? www.500eboard.copuchak

Staff member Hmmm
I'm not sure how long that table has been borked, but it was vBulletin BBcode so may not have made the translation to XenForo back in 2019. That said, isn't this information available on the Wiki, anyway?

Hello Guest !
We wanted to let you know about a new resource that is now available to all 500Eboard members. This is a comprehensive database of all US-market (and soon to include Canadian-market) 500E and E500 models delivered for the 1992 through 1994 model years.
Data for this resource has been compiled continuously since mid-2003, and much of this information is seeing the light of day for the very first time ever. This new resource will allow you to utilize 500Eboard research and resources to track specific cars, their sale history, documented modifications, and other information that has surfaced over the years.
We are also providing analytics about the cars' production. This means that if you are curious as to how many "Signal Red" cars were produced for the US market with a black interior, specifically in Model Year 1993, you can now easily find this information. You can also find aggregated information -- for example, how many "Black Pearl" cars were imported into the US over the three-year span.
You can always find and enjoy this resource by clicking here (bookmark the site for easy reference!), or by going to the “500Eboard Registry and VIN Database” sub-forum below. You can also find a VIN Database button at the top of your screen, for easy access.
We hope you enjoy this resource. A LOT of blood, sweat and tears over nearly 23 years have gone into its creation.
Cheers,
500Eboard Management
