Jul 20, 2013 12 0 10,510 I'm looking between the gigabyte 7950 and the Sapphire R9 280x vapor x and is it worth an extra $50 USD for the sapphire card. Is there much performance difference? Solution 280x is just a rebrand of the 7970 with higher clocks, and considering the 7970>7950, I think 50$ should be just enough to ensure that your gpu will not be outdated anytime soon. If I were you, I'd go for the 280x.Then again, it depends if you want 15% more performance for 50$. Oct 28, 2009 957 0 19,360 The 50$ difference is well worth it, the 7950 is a great card, but the 280x(old 7970) is definitely worth the price difference. Upvote 0 Downvote T
