totally overpowered mc has to deal with being underrated, they end up having to save the world multiple times from destruction. the main difference is, in One Punch Man, the MC wants to be known, whereas in Xian Wang... the MC wants to lead a quiet life of obscurity. 2022-02-03 06:32 Quite nice anime. Although the maker did not elaborate the concept in detail, it is still enjoyable to watch.

2021-09-11 18:32 Saiki K. definitely came to mind while watching this and in many ways this is better, i mean it has a plot and an ending for one, while Saiki K derailed into pointless stupidity after the 1st season. The inexperience of the animation studio is definitely showing, in the inappropriate intro and the awkward pacing at times, the ending also felt kinda immature and cliché, and i'm not sure what the point was of ep 16, which is an alternate version of ep 10, which Netflix skipped and replaced it with ep 16 (it was that pointless). There are some plot holes too (of course), like how he has the power to destroy the Earth but after beating up the "old lady" for 5 minutes he still couldn't kill her? maybe season 2 will explain it. Anyway i do recommend it, i had a lot of fun watching it, loved the humor (like receiving a phone call on the toilet) and any story with romance always gets extra points from me. 7/10

2021-04-30 13:24 At first, I found this series pacing weird and hard to follow, despite it being rather straightforward. The series does pick up and becomes a good one, but the ending was not in my taste. this is for those that like overpowered protagonist and some friendly bickering along with combat.

2020-08-30 00:18 It was nice time watching this show. Three was not that much of revolutionary stuff there but I liked the part where MC is doing this best not to be involved in anything happening around him. At least part of the show was about OP MC who doing his everything do be average or below.

2020-07-16 18:31 This is the first donghua that has made me laugh hard. It has elements of One Punch Man or Saiki K. though I didn't like the latter. Pretty decently animated for a 2D donghua. Don't watch it without good subtitles or you'll miss a lot of the jokes, puns and references. Must see for seinen comedy audience.

2025-07-15 20:09 Rating: 2.66 Approval: - "The Daily Life of the Immortal King" starts with the now-common trope of an overpowered main character, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Unfortunately, as the plot progresses, the already choppy and hole-ridden story begins to reveal just how far the MC takes his 'holding back' gimmick — to the point where it seems intended as a quirky trait, but completely misses the mark in my eyes. For about 90% of the anime, the MC just exists in the background. Rarely have I disliked a protagonist this much. On top of that, things just happen without any real explanation — you’re expected to accept it without question. This Swiss cheese of a plot and the utterly unlikeable MC made me drop the show right before the end of season 1. I genuinely had to force myself through it, hoping it would eventually get better. Sadly, I just couldn’t take it anymore.

2023-01-07 06:24 Rating: 2.16 Approval: - This show is a china offering and if you are not used to it the story telling can be a bit off. There are narration from time to time and it throws off the story telling which make it hard to follow. There show there for becomes confused as it tries to get you to like the main protag but fails since he is so unlikeable as a character. There are slap stick moments when there shouldn't be.overrall this show tried to be too many things and does not concerntrate on one thing which ultimatly the down fall.It is barely watchable so i would pass on this one.

add/edit tags dynamicSome of the central structural elements in anime are Plot Continuity, Stereotype Characters and Plot Twists. · castno description set · · female protagonistThe anime has a female protagonist. weightless · · male protagonistThis anime has a male protagonist. weightless · · nearly almighty protagonistThis anime`s main character is comparable to the gods themselves in terms of resistibility, strength and/or downright bad-assery. Whenever they seem as if the fire inside has burnt out, they rise from the ashes with enough tenacity and ferocity to vanquish any foe that dare stand against them. weightless · cosmic resetAll events that occurred up to a certain point are mysteriously undone, as if the Universe pressed a rewind button. weightless · randomnessThe anime does not follow a predictable storyline. New, strange, obscure, or otherwise unexpected story elements are introduced at a whim. weightless · storytellingno description set · · narrationThe most common example is that of a voice, either that of one of the characters or entirely unrelated, that appears at the beginning of an episode to offer a summary or introduction, and at the end of an episode for closure or for a preview to hint upon what to expect next. weightless · time loopA time loop is a common plot device in science fiction (especially in universes where time travel is commonplace). Events in the story repeat themselves a number of times with or without some variation with each pass. Most characters either do not realise this is occurring or are attempting to break the cycle in some way. weightless elementsNext to Themes setting the backdrop for the protagonists in anime, there are the more detailed plot Elements that centre on character interactions: "What do characters do to each other or what is done to them?". Is it violent Action, an awe-inspiring Adventure in a foreign place, the gripping life of a Detective, a slapstick Comedy, an Ecchi Harem anime, a SciFi epic, or some Fantasy travelling adventure? · actionAction anime usually involve a fairly straightforward story of good guys versus bad guys, where most disputes are resolved by using physical force. It often contains a lot of shooting, explosions and fighting. * · · fightingFor some reason or other one faction has to take it out on some opponent via fight or battle. Typical examples of this are all the anime with "endless pointless fighting" tag. weightless · · martial artsVarious sports or skills, mainly of Japanese origin, that originated as forms of self-defense or attack, such as judo, karate, and kendo. ** · · · cultivationCultivation is a Taoist concept that describes extending one`s lifespan through the practice of martial and mystical arts with the goal of cultivating qi/chi, spiritual life force. Cultivation is a common theme in both Wuxia and Xianxia stories *** · · swordplayThe act or art of using a sword or similar weapon skillfully. ** · comedyAnime whose central struggle causes hilarious results. These stories are built upon funny characters, situations and events. A comedy anime is laced with humour and sets out to provoke laughter from the audience. Japanese humour can be a bit strange to westerners, so if you`re new to this type of humour, just bear with it; it`ll most likely grow on you if you`re a fan of other kinds of comedy. * · · absurdist humourSurreal humour is a form of humour predicated on deliberate violations of causal reasoning, producing events and behaviours that are obviously illogical. Constructions of surreal humour tend to involve bizarre juxtapositions, non-sequiturs, irrational or absurd situations, and expressions of nonsense. The humour arises from a subversion of audience`s expectations, so that amusement is founded on unpredictability. Its appeal stems from the situation being exceedingly ridiculous or unlikely. + · · funny expressionsThe facial expressions of the characters may change so quickly or unexpectedly distort that hilarity will ensue. weightless · competitionSome sort of confrontation occurs in this show. The protagonists "duke it out" via various competitions. weightless · · tournamentA competition involving a large number of participants. Such competitions may range from friendly, moderated sporting events to anything-goes, all-out fights to the death. weightless · speculative fictionSpeculative fiction is an umbrella genre encompassing fiction with certain elements that do not exist in the real world, often in the context of supernatural, futuristic or other imaginative themes. This includes, but is not limited to, science fiction, fantasy, superhero fiction, horror, utopian and dystopian fiction, fairytale fantasy, supernatural fiction, as well as combinations thereof. · · fantasyImaginative or fanciful work, especially one dealing with supernatural elements and themes. ** · · · contemporary fantasyMagic and supernatural beings exist secretly in what is generally regarded as the real world. Such elements may have originated from another world. Stories where a modern-day character travels to an alternate fantasy world are not considered contemporary fantasy. *** · · · demonIn Western lore, demons are often described as minions from Hell, generally known to attack humans and feast on their flesh or possess the bodies of those with weak souls. In Eastern lore, on the other hand, they are generally supernatural, often but not always malevolent beings who can be more mischievous than actually evil, or simply supernatural spirits of no specific alignment. * · · · magicMagic is the art of purportedly manipulating aspects of reality either by supernatural means or through knowledge of unknown occult laws. + · · · · magic schoolA school where magic is taught. weightless · · · · magic weaponsThe characters in this anime wield magic weapons. weightless · · · · summoningAbility to call/materialize some kind of creature. weightless · super powerBe it an ancient Greek Heracles, a cybernetic muscle-man, or a fourteen year-old girl in a mini-skirted sailor suit. As long as they have super powers, they`re in the show. ** · · emotions awaken superpowersDuring an extreme emotional state — rage, love, hate, angst, sadness, compassion — something inside the character will "click" that will increase greatly his/her power or a new superpower awakes, that surpasses anything achieved by him/her until then. weightless fetishesFor non-porn anime, the fetish must be a major element of the show; incidental appearances of the fetish is not sufficient for a fetish tag. Please do not add fetish tags to anime that do not pander to the fetish in question in any meaningful way. For example, there`s some ecchi in Shinseiki Evangelion, but the fact you get to see Asuka`s pantsu is not sufficient to warrant applying the school girl fetish tag. Most porn anime play out the fetish, making tag application fairly straightforward. · breastsThe female bust size matters! Or does it? The subcategories spell out the the range of breast sizes. · · large breastsLarge breasts are breasts a fair notch larger than average, as found in some real life adolescent girls or fully grown women. They are bigger than medium breasts and smaller than huge breasts. Note: This tag has many anime/character entries that need to be moved to the new medium and huge breasts tags. Please add the appropriate tag and remove this one from the corresponding anime/character afterwards. ** originno description set · Chinese productionno description set weightless original workWhat the anime is based on! This is given as the original work credit in the OP. Mostly of academic interest, but a useful bit of info, hinting at the possible depth of story. · novelA novel is a relatively long work of narrative fiction, normally written in prose form, and which is typically published as a book. Manga, comics, or visual novels do not fit this description and are not considered novels; including a small number of illustrations, however, is still permissible, which means that light novels are considered novels. weightless settingThe setting describes in what time and place an anime takes place. To a certain extent it describes what you can expect from the world in the anime. · placeThe places the anime can take place in. Includes more specific places such as a country on Earth, as well as more general places such as a dystopia or a mirror world. · · EarthThe Earth is the third planet from the Sun. It is a ball of hot mud, but on the surface it`s cold enough, so most of us live on it (or are supposed to). To its inhabitants, our planet is their home, so, as a species, we cherish it to the point many cultures even to this day deify it. The Earth is the main setting of most fiction, but many titles are set in other places, such as unrelated fantasy worlds, and in a considerable number of fictional titles the Earth is actually destroyed by invaders. *** · · · AsiaAsia is Earth`s largest and most populous continent. Asia covers an area of 44,579,000 square kilometers. The continent, which has long been home to the majority of the human population, was the site of many of the first civilizations. Asia is notable for not only its overall large size and population, but also dense and large settlements as well as vast barely populated regions within the continent of 4.4 billion people. *** · · · · ChinaChina, officially the People`s Republic of China (PRC), is a unitary sovereign state in East Asia and the world`s most populous country. It is the third- or fourth-largest country by total area, depending on the source consulted. China also has the most neighbor countries in the world. Governed by the Communist Party of China, it exercises jurisdiction over 22 provinces, 5 autonomous regions, 4 direct-controlled municipalities, and the special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macau. *** · timeThis placeholder lists different epochs in human history and more vague but important timelines such as the future, the present and the past. · · futureAnime that fall under the future category are the ones that have a society that could have originated from ours. In most cases it should go hand to hand with sci-fi since we expect the future to consist of advanced technology, however, in the case where it`s explicitly stated in the story that the anime takes place "x years into the future", the state of technology doesn`t matter as long as it`s long into the future. The anime can be set in an alternative universe not tied with our own, as long as it has a futuristic feel to it. This category sports quite a lot of anime, mostly stemming from SciFi, but not necessarily only from there. + target audienceAnime, like everything else in the modern world, is targeted towards specific audiences, both implicitly by the creators and overtly by the marketing. · shounenIn the context of manga and associated media, shounen, literally meaning "youth" and often also specifically "boy", refers to a male audience roughly between the ages of 10 and 18. weightless technical aspectsIt may sometimes be useful to know about technical aspects of a show, such as information about its broadcasting or censorship. Such information can be found here. · CGIComputer-generated imagery (CGI) or computer animation is the art of creating moving images via the use of computers. Increasingly it is created by means of 3D computer graphics, though 2D computer graphics are still widely used for stylistic, low bandwidth, and faster real-time rendering needs. weightless · product placementOtherwise known as a "plug" or "writing commercials right into a show". The practice of prominently displaying or talking about a recognizable product in a program, in exchange for some consideration from the manufacturer, usually monetary. (Source: TV Tropes) Particularly notorious example, Pizza Hut for the involvement with Code Geass, Darker than Black and other series. weightless themesThemes describe the very central elements important to the anime stories. They set the backdrop against which the protagonists must face their challenges. Be it School Life, present Daily Life, Military action, Cyberpunk, Law and Order detective work, Sports, or the Underworld. These are only but a few of the more typical backgrounds for anime plots. Add to that a Conspiracy setting with a possible tragic outcome, the Themes span most of the imaginable subject matter relevant to anime. · rivalryQuite broadly used term describing a conflict, contest, struggle, or opposition of some sort. Typical examples: The mostly comedic rivalry for the love of a protagonist in a harem anime (love polygon), the more "mindless" battles between wannabe delinquents in a school fighting anime, or the struggle between good & evil in an epic conflict for world domination. * · · school rivalrySimple description for a "School vs School in all-out physical-combat" series. No matter how geographically close or far apart the schools are, students from different schools are enemies by default and are likely to engage in physical fights on sight (except on the occasion that certain schools form pacts of alliance or peace). weightless · school lifeSince a large part of the anime audience still takes part in school life or is visiting college, it is only natural to choose a setting the audience can identify with, be it elementary, middle, or high school. For the older viewers a college setting with more mature real-life problems is appropriate. And since clubs take up so much time in the lives of students, these are obviously also important. ** · · high schoolA secondary school that usually contains grades 10 through 12 in Japan, or 9 through 12 in America. ** · secret organisationA secret organisation or secret society is an organisation whose activities and inner functioning are concealed from non-members. The society may or may not attempt to conceal its existence itself. Examples of historical and existing secret societies include Freemasonry, the Knights Templar, the Rosicrucians, Skull and Bones, the Thule Society, and the Illuminati. weightless episode specific amusement park visitPlot device: All or part of the cast visit an amusement park. 2 eps applies to episode(s): 4, 15 childhood memoryThe childhood memory of one of the protagonists plays an important part as plot device in this anime. 2 eps applies to episode(s): 10, 13 ferris wheelPlot device: All or part of the cast take a ride on the ferris wheel. 2 eps applies to episode(s): 4, 15 fireworksThe characters are watching or playing with fireworks. 2 eps applies to episode(s): 4-5 first dateA first date is a type of initial meeting between two individuals, whether or not previously acquainted, where an effort is made to ask, plan, and organize some sort of social activity, with the goals ranging from forming a friendship or finding a romantic or sexual partner for a short period to finding a long-term spouse. 1 eps applies to episode(s): 4 flashbackA flashback is a moment where events from the past are recounted. Flashbacks are used primarily to give insight into a character`s mind or to reveal information previously kept from the audience. They normally consist of mostly new content; they are different from and should not be confused with recaps, where old content is shown again for no particular purpose. Generally, to qualify as a flashback, the scene must advance the narrative. The opposite is a flashforward. See also in medias res. 8 eps applies to episode(s): 2, 4-6, 10-11, 13-14 kabedonKabedon is the act of someone pressing someone else against a wall and leaning onto them, generally usually using one hand to balance against the wall and pin the target in place while keeping the other free. This creates a proximity between them and is usually understood to be a romantic move, though it can also be taken as sexual harassment or even used to threaten the target. 1 eps applies to episode(s): 9 post-credits sceneA little bit of the story is found after the credit titles. A little bonus for those patient enough! This applies regardless of if the credits play over an ED sequence, or over the "regular episode" that continues to air into the credits. A sequence at the end of an episode, showing what will happen in the next episode, is NOT a post-credits scene; that is a preview. 2 eps applies to episode(s): 3, 15 preview before edUnlike most productions, where the next episode preview rolls *after* the ending with the production credits, this title does the reverse: preview the next episode *first*, then enjoy the ED (or skip it if you prefer, without missing the juicy preview details). 1 eps applies to episode(s): 12 tournamentA competition involving a large number of participants. Such competitions may range from friendly, moderated sporting events to anything-goes, all-out fights to the death. 5 eps applies to episode(s): 11-15 related Character Tags ?
