It's good, but it heats up and drains a lot of battery.

It's a great processor, indeed. Like all others, it has its limitations. The processor delivers what it promises, but on the other hand, it cannot maintain its performance for a long time due to stress caused by itself, it ends up overheating and is limited. Samsung has been rolling out updates and yes, it has been improving and optimizing the processor.

Pros

  • High Performance
  • Excellent photo post-processing
  • Great features

Cons

  • Consumes a lot of battery
  • Overheats
  • Slowdown above 42°C (107.6°F) in games.

The A14 Bionic processor throttles hard

DANIEL

DANIEL

For anyone who intends to buy the iPhone 12 series (A14 Bionic) I'm sorry to disappoint you but if you don't have sufficient cooling for it, it's going to throttle down due to heat and lack of a cooling solution all thanks to Apple being Apple.. 😅

Pros

  • Phenomenal peak performance
  • Outstanding A.I imaging prowess
  • Energy Efficient

Cons

  • Heavy throttling when playing graphics intensive games for just 5 minutes
  • Overpriced and overhyped

General info

semiconductor size

5 nm

5 nm

Small semiconductors provide better performance and reduced power consumption. Chipsets with a higher number of transistors, semiconductor components of electronic devices, offer more computational power. A small form factor allows more transistors to fit on a chip, therefore increasing its performance.Supports 64-bitApple A14 BionicApple M1A 32-bit operating system can only support up to 4GB of RAM. 64-bit allows more than 4GB, giving increased performance. Performance

CPU speed

2 x 3.1 GHz & 4 x 1.8 GHz

4 x 3.2 GHz & 4 x 2 GHz

The CPU speed indicates how many processing cycles per second can be executed by a CPU, considering all of its cores (processing units). It is calculated by adding the clock rates of each core or, in the case of multi-core processors employing different microarchitectures, of each group of cores.CPU threads

More threads result in faster performance and better multitasking.Uses big.LITTLE technologyApple A14 BionicApple M1Using big.LITTLE technology, a chip can switch between two sets of processor cores to maximize performance and battery life. For example, when playing a game the more powerful cores will be used to increase performance, whereas checking email will use the less powerful cores to maximize battery life.Uses HMPApple A14 BionicApple M1Heterogeneous Multi-Processing (HMP) is a more advanced version of big.LITTLE technology. In this setup, a processor can utilize all cores at the same time, or just a single core for low-intensity tasks. This can provide powerful performance or increased battery life respectively.turbo clock speed
