Gentcpa Registered Users Join Date: Aug 2014 Default I bought the k120, it flies like crap, was hoping to replace my 130x for flying in the yard. I must be doing something wrong. It seems to have reverse expo, very sensitive around center and lazy and slow at full throw. I don't usually fly with expo changed that to zero from rhe default made it worse. Tried recalibrating everything, didn't seem to change anything. The 6 axis calibration doesn't seem to be doing anything, and the heli drifts badly in that mode. Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong? Or any links on what I can try without wading through pages and pages of junk on rcgroups. Waiting on parts from China, but as is this thing is pretty much not flyable. 130x still rules the yard followed by the 180cfx and sometimes the Oxy3, it's s small yard with obstacles. Thanks Julian

Wargamer Registered Users Join Date: Jan 2016 Default The radio is Futaba protocol, so the expo should be a negative number or you will get exactly what you're describing! Also, it's the strangest radio in that you need to input expo (and DR) separately for both directions of cyclic. That is, you need to set up and down elevator separately, and well as right and left aileron. You do this by pushing the stick one direction or the other first, to indicate which direction, and then you adjust the expo or DR. (You don't have to hold the stick input, just move it one way or the other briefly to "signal".) Hope that helps! Note that the 120's servos do not like to be smacked into the ground. It's a wonderful flier, but you can't crash it with abandon the way you can the 110, or you will be replacing the servos fairly often. I can't comment on your 6-axis drift. It's worked fine in my 110 and I never tried it on my 120. Will check it out when I get a chance. __________________ Compass Atom 5.5; Oxy 2/3/4 XK K110 K120

BrokeDad Registered Users Posts: 10,254 Join Date: Jun 2016 Location: - Default I loved the K110 so bought a K120. A slight crash and the ESC burned up and the feathering shaft bent. So I bought a second one(K120). It now sits as I just don't like it. It tilted and drifted terribly until I did a calibration flight BTW. I'll stick with the K110 for my tiny 3D capable heli. I'd trade or sell the K120's and all the spare parts but I doubt I would get much of anything for them. Last edited by BrokeDad; 10-04-2016 at 02:25 PM..

Gentcpa Registered Users Join Date: Aug 2014 Default Thanks I'll give this another shot. I had noticed the expo was in as negatives. I didn't know about the stick direction thing on programming. I might order a 110 at least I have the radio so can get a bnf now.

Nick568 Registered Users Posts: 80 Join Date: Aug 2016 Default I seem to be one of the very few here who does not like the K110. Wasn't happy with the RTF radio (Unlike everyone else on here it seems) and wasn't about to buy a $200+ Futaba just to fly a $70 heli comfortably. It didn't fly right out of the box, and the tail motor burned up on flight #7. Retired it at that point. Much happier with the MCPX BL (about the same money for a used MCPX BL as a new K110). Though I don't fly any of the ultra micros anymore, really. After picking up my first '250' sized heli, I don't want to fly anything smaller! __________________ Align 450L, Blade 230s, 180 CFX, 130s, MCPX BL, (2) Nano CPS, XK K110

Che Che Registered Users Posts: 150 Join Date: Jun 2016 Default I did write this one on different thread... but same here.. I can only say to these 2: Blade nano CPX brushless and Hisky HCP100S (or on Hobby king "Assault 100" same like Hisky).. I have CPX brushless (main motor) and last weekend friend give me his Hisky to try, and I was blown away with Hisky.. It is much better heli in air, lot of power, far better then CPX... It is looking it is heavier and do not know about crashes, but in air it is much better, can not be compared (at least it looked to me like that).. Far more power, far better stability, no tail blowouts like cpx etc... Only thing I notices and did not liked but that may be his settings (I woud love if someone know this one) it do like 2 times faster rols "over head" then to side.. I hope it is only cause he did not set it properly.. I love my CPX's (have 2) but Hisky is so better.. So if those 2 are on list, my vote is for Hisky of those 2.. Far better.. Not to mention price for heli and for parts.. It is shame.. I like Nano, but sorry..

Buy a few and do the servo saver mod http://www.banggood.com/Emax-ES9251-...-p-981867.html You have to make a few mods to make this servos fit, but I been using them and no strip gears, just need to re-center the servo horn after a crash and ready to fly again.

wormburner Registered Users Join Date: Jan 2007 Default Regarding the servo mod for the K120, I need some help. I've tried to replace my K120 with Emax ES9251 servos. Not sure what the issue is but if I plug more than one servo, all the servos stop working. I'm wondering if the servos are drawing too much power. I just snipped the wires off and soldered the stock connectors on and plugged in. Is there some sort of trick to using the ES9251 servos on the K120? __________________ Trex600, Trex450SE, Trex450XL, Swift16, GWS mini-Dragonfly, Century elite CP, Blade CX2

Is your pitch changing every few flights? If so, it is more likely the main gear. Hold main head and push main gear until there is no up and down play on shaft. Post your questions here https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...gress)/page388

But more power and tail hold would be perfect. I've read the K120 is no good. Now there's a new kid on the block: K130 - anyone tried it? Any good? Better than the K110? https://www.banggood.com/XK-K130-2_4...r_warehouse=CN Can I use the radio that came with the K110? __________________ Micro: XK K110/S/2S, OMP Hobby M1 Medium: Blade 450X 6S, SAB Goblin 380 Big: SAB Goblin 500 Radio: Spektrum DX8 Gen 1

Stay with the 110 and put a 120 tail blade on it. That will solve your tail problems. It's still the toughest little bird going and I don't think you'll be as happy with flight times and durability of the 130 based on what I've read. The 130 servos break in every crash. I had this happen. Turned out two servo arms had been skipping teeth after a crash. You can turn them back. Just check zero pitch after a crash. Eventually they will move in flight from repeated skipping a resetting. CrashyCrashy

A few weeks ago I picked up an xk110 with the tx and bought 5 extra batteries all for $117.00 from Banggood. I was expecting it to be rather fragile, boy was I wrong. I've crashed that little heli dozens of times and no damage. Beyond that, it's fun to fly and you don't need much space, and with 6 batteries I'm getting a lot of airtime. __________________ Treat me good, I'll treat you better. SHYguy Registered Users Posts: 4,107 My HF Map location Join Date: Jul 2012 Default Yes it's really just incredible that thing! Even the 180 CFX made no sense for me to keep once I discovered this thing. It's the perfect "live sim". Forget Nanos and mCPX'es! I tried the Hisky HCP100S - insane power but way too instalble. And does not crash as good. Only thing I'd like is a weee bit more power! I may try these batts: https://www.banggood.com/2PCS-Gaonen...r_warehouse=CN (highe C rating and less weight) I'd also like to try a bit more powerful motor. Stock is 11000KV. Anyone know of a present good replacement with 15-16000KV and a pinion that fits? __________________ Micro: XK K110/S/2S, OMP Hobby M1 Medium: Blade 450X 6S, SAB Goblin 380 Big: SAB Goblin 500 Radio: Spektrum DX8 Gen 1
