If you alternator is working and you are getting full voltage at the battery and it wont take a charge then the battery is most likely bad. #3 · Apr 29, 2012 load test battery. #4 · Apr 29, 2012 the battery was test no charge what so ever, stays in 12,80's could be a relay? #5 · Apr 29, 2012 I am not sure but I think the alternator should be directly wired to the battery, so if you are only getting 12.8 I would re test the alternator. At an idle mine charges at 14.4 I would check and make sure all of your connections are good. Make sure your frame ground is clean and tight.
