OK so I may need to change turbo, but my question is how?, can I do it from above? Do I need to remove inlet manifold? What do I need to look out for? It needs to be done from above and belove, you need to remove o/s driveshaft, cat/exhaust, oil return and some manifold nuts all from below, then remove plenum chamber cover, wipers, scuttle panel trim, air box, battery and battery tray and then you should have good access to turbo to remove oil feed, manifold nuts, intercooler pipe, etc its a pretty s*** job. I did all mine from underneath apart from removing the pipes. Never removed battery or wipers or the inlet manifold. I did how ever have the use of a ramp and think it's not a nice job on the floor Top Galv Caddy Fan Posts: 97 Joined: Sun Jan 24, 2016 5:17 pm Engine size/power: 1.2 TSI (103bhp)Re: Best way to remove turbo

Yep bls but I am an engine specialist and fully qualified mechanic so my experience helps. I do wish it could be got out through the side by removing the batterie instead of pulling the drive shaft. I think from memory I did also in bolt the dog bone mount so I could swing the engine forward so that the turbo would drop out past the subframe Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Top Nickd57 100BHP+ Posts: 184 Joined: Fri Nov 21, 2014 12:16 am Engine size/power: 1.6 CR TDI (75bhp) Location: Penicuik, outside EdinburghRe: Best way to remove turbo
