volent V Hi, I have a 2010 EOS and I can connect my iPhone to Bluetooth with code 0000 and I can make phone calls by the steering wheel but I cant seem to stream music. The radio has BT Audio checked in the settings but the BT-Audio is button is disabled in the media menu on the stereo. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks Sort by Oldest first Oldest first Newest first Most reactions #2 · Jan 27, 2019 If I want to play music from my iPhone, I have to go into the music app and explicitly select the car's Bluetooth (VW UHV) as the output. Do you know for certain that your Bluetooth module supports stereo audio? According to this page a 2010 car may not have stereo Bluetooth. The head unit will have an option for Bluetooth audio, but that doesn't guarantee that the Bluetooth module (usually under the right-hand front seat) will support it. #3 · May 6, 2021 Can you update the Bluetooth module with one that supports Bluetooth audio? #4 · May 6, 2021 Yes. If your car has the red display in the instrument cluster, you will lose phone functionality from that if you install a newer Bluetooth module. If your car has a white display in the instrument cluster, it should be a case of just swapping it out. The part number you need is 7P6035730 with a revision of at least C. If you have a red instrument cluster and you want the phone display in it, there is an expensive workaround: the PolarFIS unit will "translate" the newer Bluetooth module so it shows on older screens. I've done that and it works! #5 · May 6, 2021 (Edited) Thanks. I have the white display so a simple exchange should work then? No adjustments to the harness? Also, I am seeing a lot of letters in the ending mostly N K. What is the difference. I know that N includes navigation. Would the 7P6035730N work? I assume that the navigation part won't work unless I upgrade the radio to one with the MAPS button. I found one from a 2015 Passat for a decent price. If that would work I'd like to get that and swap out for my daughter before she goes on a trip, otherwise she'll just have to use the AUX cable, which isn't a bad thing either. #6 · May 6, 2021 Any revision C or later will be fine, will play music, and should be a plug-and-play replacement. You might see them described as “Bluetooth interface for navigation system” but none of these Bluetooth modules have navigation capabilities - that’s down to the head unit and the GPS antenna, both of which are separate. #7 · May 6, 2021 How do I determine what gaed unit I have. I will likely upgrade to one with Nav later #8 · May 7, 2021 It doesn't matter which head unit you have - the Bluetooth modules with this part number will work with all of them. You can do an image search for the various head units - RCD300, RCD500, RCD310, RCD510, RNS300, RNS310, RNS510 and see which one looks like yours. #9 · May 7, 2021 Thanks. Ordered the unit k.
