Having had a test drive today in a C63 saloon, I'm teetering on the brink of a purchase. I'm loving the C63 estate (couldn't test drive one today) albeit they seem to suffer from pretty rapid, eye watering depreciation. C43 may be a better option, 4 wheel drive, economy (?!) may be a factor in holding residual value. Anyone have experience of both?? Quite a price hike up from 43 to 63, wondering if the 43 will keep a smile on my face?! Thanks! Can't talk about the C43 as I've never driven one but don't expect a C63 to keep you smiling for long. Once the brakes start squealing and the interior starts rattling you'll be dying to trade it in. I can't help with the Comparison .I road tested a used C43 coming out of a A250 4matic that i own. First impressions where that it was as Agile as the A class and not much wider. Great around town and easy to drive and a clever Electronic tilt and slide steering wheel. It drove very well and then i dialed in the Sport + mode, well.... it became an Animal everything seemed to tighten up and crouch and then it took off. That Exhaust note was just superb with plenty of power.Without offending anyone on here, i didn't buy for the following reasons :I couldn't live with the Red Seat belts and although the switch gear was well made , there was polished metal everywhere ( Premium + pack) . It just didn't fit in with the rest of the car IMO. The Estate version looked better on the eye but with the Night Package to hide the fake 4 Exhaust grill at the rear. For a car that had done 7K the tyres were very worn, and can i only assume it had a hard life with the front peppered with stone chips. Can't help in a comparison but my son was looking at a C63 but I persuaded him towards the C43 as a better everyday car (also for a relatively inexperienced driver too). I've driven it and it's a great car. Crabbing does happen when the weather is cold and on full lock but it really isn't an issue. Test driven C43 Coupe at same time as S5. C43 miles better- sound- pops and crackles, drive, paddle shifts. A smile a minute.Downsides it looks like every other c coupe. They could have done more to distinguish it.I'm sure the C63 is amazing. The sound particularly. But the 43 is probably faster most days ie always pissing down, so better grip. Would prob smash a 63 moat days.C63 body looks great though. More wet days than dry days! Get the C43. But then the sound of the C63. A sound that so few cars will ever have again! Both Great cars better than any BMW, Audi and most Porsche. Haven't tested the new C43 but maybe save yourself some ££ and get yourself a W204 C63 Estate...I have had one a while now and am struggling to change up for the newer version or alternatives (without paying as much for a RS6). Still some low miler dealer cars to be had in used market if its an option. All the best Thanks all for replies. V8 if you can.. because why not? If you're worried about depreciation, get a slightly older 6.2 - just insane in a small family car. I haven't driven the C43, and I'm sure it's equally a good car, but.... I'd hands down go C63 any day. But not the S.The engine on the C63 is just awesome. You can just enjoy it any time by changing down gear around 3-4K rpm. Almost every day the pops and crackles have a different character, it's not like the engineered noise on a R8 V10.The car is so useable. Sure if your an idiot 467bhp and RWD will spin and the torque can catch you out in cold and wet. But if you are a good driver and understand physics and car control, it's rarely going to be an issue.You'll always be wanting the V8 if you don't have it. And the market has a lot of 6 cyclinder vairants as competition, so I'd make the most of probably the best modern turbocharged V8 on sale.Reference wet driving, I hammered around brooklands in wet, drying conditions and dry in sport plus with sport etc mode. If you can drive well, you'll be amazed at the capabilities of the car in the wet or damp. Dynamically the car is impressive. Sensible advice pls (along the lines of you only live once, do it, would be good!!)Lots of people do it but it sounds like absolute madness to me. £30k is a huge sum of money to pay for the privilege of driving around in a moderately fast estate car for two years. £30k ish will get you in a main dealer 2013/14 6.2 na estate with a years warranty (two if you push), run for two years and sell for £24k-£25k (look at prices for early facelift estates for an idea of value in 2 years), your TCO will be about 17% of a new one and the NA is sublime too. I'm 9 months into mine and absolutely loving it. People are talking sense, and I need to listen. Damn! I purchased a C63s estate in March this year, it was 15 months old, just under 9k miles, well specced, Night pack, HUD, few other bits and bobs, paid £51k for it. it is the niice deep blue colour.I love it to bits, had a few issues with speaks/rattles etc all sorted by my local dealership unnder warranty.The noise is amazinng, the car is great now.Must have option is the switchable exhaust so you can leave the car in comfort mode but still have the noise

If PCP, did you get a good deal? I'm imagining yes, otherwise you wouldn't be posting here!!!! There's one for sale quite close to me, £56k and pretty much brand new, but APR on used makes it cheaper to buy new, if on a PCP. What sort of deal have u been offered on pcp out of interest?
