Mercedes-Benz will be expanding its AMG product portfolio by launching the 2016 C43 AMG performance coupe in India. The all new C43 AMG is the 13th new product launch for the German manufacturer in India in 2016. The sedan is somewhat similar looking to the elder and maniacal C63 S AMG which is also a full-fledged sedan with four doors. Here are the basic differences between the C43 AMG and C63 S AMG.
ExteriorsThe C43 AMG features a decorated front grille with large air intakes complemented by projector headlamps with LED DRLs. The side profile is similar to the traditional C-Class along with a 4-door setup and a sloping roofline towards the end. The rear end consists of large wraparound tail lamps with highly molded bumper which is concluded by dual exhaust pipes on the extreme ends.
The C63 S AMG boasts of a large power dome on the bonnet which is positioned downwards and complements the twin blade radiator grille with the three-pointed star in the middle. The sporty front bumper has bigger air intakes finished with honeycomb mesh grille. The side profile looks purpose made with V8 Biturbo lettering on the front wing, AMG lettering on the side sills and 19-inch AMG cross-spoke light alloy wheels finished in matte black and high-sheen rim range. The rear end consists of a diffuser with three fins and chrome plated quad AMG performance exhausts.

InteriorsThe interiors of the C43 AMG have an expected resemblance to the regular C-Class. The sporty seats are stitched with red microfiber, floor mats are red whereas there is aluminum trim finish on the dashboard. The features include a Burmester audio system, panoramic sunroof, blind-spot assist, heated seats, an 8.4 inch infotainment screen with navigation and 360 view parking camera.
The C63 S AMG is a bigger sedan with the seats and steering wheel finished with nappa leather with contrast stitching, Burmester surround sound system with 13 speakers. This one also has a COMAND online system integrated with the 13.97 cm TFT infotainment screen which also houses a PARKTRONIC and reversing camera.
EngineThe engine is the biggest differentiating factor between the two as the C43 AMG will be powered by a 3.0 litre twin-turbocharged V6 petrol engine which delivers a peak power output of 367 bhp and 520 nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 7-speed G-TRONIC PLUS auto transmission which transfers power to all four wheels from the 4MATIC, 4-wheel drivetrain. Mercedes Benz C43 AMG also gets five AMG Dynamic select modes which include Eco, Comfort, Sport, Sport Plus and Individual mode which allows the driver to set engine, transmission and suspension setup according to his own preferences.
The C63 S AMG has a massive heart in the form of a 4.0 litre V8 Biturbo engine which has a power output of 510 bhp and 700 nm of massive torque. The engine is based on traditional AMG “one man, one engine” philosophy. This earth-shaking motor is mated to a AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission with AMG dynamic select program, double-declutching and Race Start function.
PricingThe C43 AMG coupe will be brought in as a CBU (completely built up) unit and is priced at INR 74,35 lakh(ex-showroom Delhi).
The Mercedes C63 S AMG is priced at INR 1.30 crore (ex-showroom Delhi) which offers a huge dose of performance for its price tag.
