I. Dùng "demand" như động từ

1. Demand là ngoại động từ

2. Demand mang nghĩa "đòi hỏi, yêu cầu; cần phải"

(to ask for something forcefully, in a way that shows that you do not expect to be refused)

• this problem demands careful treatment (IELTS TUTOR giải thích: vấn đề này đòi hỏi phải giải quyết thận trọng)
• this letter demands an immediate reply (IELTS TUTOR giải thích: lá thư này cần phải trả lời ngay tức khắc)

3. Demand mang nghĩa "đòi hỏi, cần sự..."

(to need something such as time, effort, or a particular quality)

• This is a very difficult piece of music to play - it demands a lot of concentration.
  • IELTS TUTOR giải thích: ý câu này là chơi bản nhạc này đòi hỏi sự tập trung
• He seems to lack many of the qualities demanded of (= needed by) a successful politician.

II. Dùng "demand" như danh từ

2. demands = sách nhiễu, yêu cầu, điều kiện cần để...

= the difficult things that you have to do
