Harold T. Cline said: Get a Glock and be done with it. Learn safe gun handling before you do and you'll be fine. HK, Sig all the rest overpriced hype. Nothing comes close to a Glock for ease of maintenance and reliability. The rest try to imitates but fall short. Please note, that if you are a careless or negligent type person than don't get a Glock cause you'll shoot yourself. Remember there is no such thing as an accident with a gun, It all falls under Carelessness or Negligence. I don't recommend a Glock for a first time gun owner and then only when a person has been properly trained in pistol handling and gun safety under a NRA sponsored course only. (no tactical voodoo/swat dress b.s.) Far to many idiots out here who have no business carrying a firearm and making the rest of us look bad. Click to expand...Do you own a HK or Walther handgun? I was going to carry a Glock 19 at first but I am more concerned about getting sent somewhere that the larger capacity magazines will get me into trouble so I am opting with a larger caliber and smaller capacity. I really love my full size HK45 and like the way the compact feels in my hand. As far as having it on my hip in the truck it will most likely reside in my bag and come out at night when I go to sleep as well as if I feel it might be prudent to carry when I enter a place otherwise I don't really plan to keep it on my person while driving. I talked to a friend who is a former police officer and he suggested a shoulder holster might be a good option for me as it will be more comfortable while driving. For the most part I plan to keep it holstered in my bag while I am driving. #5 · Mar 26, 2016 You could get a Glock 26 Wichita meets ammo capacity limits. Another option would be to pick up a Glock 19 and purchase a couple of 10 round magazines for use when traveling. Good luck whatever you decide. #6 · Mar 26, 2016 The Glock 30 is also a good option, but then again, certainly nothing wrong with an HK45C. #11 · Mar 26, 2016 Thanks for the replies. I must confess that part of me is looking for an excuse to but the HK45c for myself. I did consider 10 round magazines for my Glock 19 but I figure if I am limited to 10 rounds I'd use a larger caliber. So I decided to start looking at .45s knowing it comes down to an HK45c or a 1911 of some sort. I hadn't really considered the Glock 30 as a choice. I do like my 9mm Glocks and want a 34 as well. I'll check out a Glock 30 when I go up to my local store. #12 · Mar 26, 2016 I wanted to add that I already took a CCW course and am awaiting my permit. The school I went with advertised at the local Gander Mountain and I took the class there. I plan to seek more training soon when I have time and can schedule a weekend off. #13 · Mar 27, 2016 Out of passive curiosity I wonder if the trucking company has any policy regarding guns. #14 · Mar 28, 2016
Bruce M said: Out of passive curiosity I wonder if the trucking company has any policy regarding guns. Click to expand...It varies by company. Independent operators make their own rules. It's not against Federal Law for a driver to carry in their truck. #15 · Mar 28, 2016 Carrying is an individual endeavor. I carry a 45c frequently either a Milt Sparks VM II, or a Crossbreed Super Tuck and have no trouble with either. The gun is extremely accurate and built like a tank. #17 · Mar 30, 2016 What magazines are you using? I saw some that were 10 rounds but had a large base that looked awkward to carry. I have the 10 round mags from my HK45 that I plan to use. 0 Reply #16 · Mar 28, 2016 Get a Glock 30! Forget the HK.
