Hi I keep getting this message when I turn the ignition off.... "Check safe lock! Owners manual" as per image! Is this normal and do you all get it? It reminds you check that it is safe to lock your car - if you lock with children, people etc in then when the deadlocks operate they can't get out in an emergency. #3 · Sep 25, 2018 Hi, It's not the most informative messages however it is normal. Safelock makes the interior door handles inactive when the car is locked making the car more difficult to break into. There is an option to disable Safelock if you wish which I think the message is reminding you to do if you want. It is also there to remind you not to lock the doors with people still inside the car as they wouldn't be able to open the doors using the internal door release levers. #4 · Sep 25, 2018 Thanks both for explaining. Thanks so much for resting my mind! 👍👍👍 #5 · Sep 27, 2018 Press the lock button ONCE to deadlock the car which as it said above also locks the internal handles also arme's the alarm sensors. Press it twice to just jock the doors (outside handles only) & does not set the alarm sensors inside, incase there is any one inside or a pet in there while you nip in a shop for a paper (for example).
