Okay so, since you particularly asked, I hope you don’t mind if I enumerate some manga pics to answer you. It’s mostly shown in the anime anyway, which I assume is the first one you knew that lead you to the fandom.

I viewed the anime episodes frequently before, so I know Dazai hadn’t refer to Chuuya there as “Chibi”? Sorry if I’m wrong, I can’t check it now.

I had to check the particular chapters when I know Chuuya and Dazai meet or are together.

I found these:

Notice how Dazai mostly insults Chuuya with words such as, “Little”, “Petit” and “Small” which are all similar in meaning.

“Chibi” means “short” or “midget.” Sometimes it can mean miniature in a cute and positive manner, but with Dazai to Chuuya, we can guess it’s meant to be offensive.

Either way, the fandom has agreed on making Dazai call Chuuya daddy, “chibi”, because it’s so close to canon anyway and it’s a very Dazai thing to do.

Hi. I hope the anon sees this. Dazai actually referred to Chuuya as “Chibikko Mafia” in the Japanese raw for that “Petit Mafia” thing.

In the latest Soukoku novel, Dazai also called him “Chibikko-kun” when they were 15.

It’s one of Dazai’s long-running word of insult/term of endearment, taunting Chuuya’s height.

And for your better understanding, I just want to share this interesting translation of “chibi” and “chibikko” from my dictionary.

Well, Chuuya is indeed a chibi. 😂😂❤❤
