In general Japanese, „watashi“ is used in formal conversations. In informal contexts it’s considered rather feminine. In anime, tho, it’s often used by male characters, who are like a bit detached or “above” others, in a “bossy” or emotional way (like L from Death Note or Byakuya from Bleach). Depending on the context “ore” can also sound ruder than “boku”, which is more humble.Chuuya addresses Dazai often with お前 (omae), which shouldn’t be used in RL Japan, since it indicates that you think, that “the one in front of you” (the literal translation) is degradingly younger, below your status, experience etc. Most of the time he addresses his partner with the one NO-NO to be used in RL Japan: 手前 (teme).
