Status Not open for further replies. #1 · Mar 13, 2020 I have a 2012 GMC canyon crew cab sle 2.9l 2rwd. I've had this code checked out and it says that it is ECU malfunction, then I went to the dealership and it was printed on a paper ECU malfunction, but the guy said that it was ebcm that needed to be replaced. I need to know exactly what this code consist of. Is the ABS light on also? * It could just be a corroded ground wire for the module.* The module of the anti-lock braking system can form corrosion after a while. This is actually one of the most common reasons for why there ends up being a problem with the anti-lock braking system. If the module is corroded, then it can’t obtain information from the wheel speed sensor. As a result, the ABS light illuminates on the dashboard. It doesn’t even take a lot of corrosion to cause this to happen either. But you will need to replace the module after this happens. Personally, I would replace the module. This guy opens his up.. #3 · Mar 13, 2020 ABS light isn't on, but the traction control light is. Everytime I start my truck. It says service stab system, traction fault. Sometimes the light stays on and sometimes it goes away. The strange thing is, is that everything works fine. That's why I suggested to check the speed sensors as a starting point and it's also a common failure point. It's possible that you could just look to see of there is an obvious problem with the wiring or a connector.
