Printers use weird language. When something is wrong with them, they won’t just tell you what’s going on. Instead, they’re going to send off a weird jumbled string of digits and expect you to know what that means. How rude! Fortunately, we’re here to provide you with…

An extensive HP printer Error Code list!

Regardless of the model of HP printer or computer you own, you’ll find an easy step-by-step on how to fix each of the errors below. A lot of the error codes have the same troubleshooting behind them in order to get the printer or device working, so we’ve bunched those up together to lessen confusion and get you back to printing. So, let’s get to the bad guys keeping your papers hostage and your screen blue.

HP Error Code 49, also known as HP Error Code 49.4 c02

Let’s start with a common one, but a pesky nonetheless. The HP printer error code 49.4c02 will usually stick your printer in a loop, telling you to turn it off then on but keep reappearing. How to fix it? In a typical scenario, this pops up as an HP OfficeJet 4630 error code because something is messed up in your printer queue and you should clear it. If you’re worried about losing printing jobs, you can save them before you clear the queue, Regardless, this should fix the HP printer error code 49.4 c02 most of the time.

If it doesn’t, that means your printer needs a firmware upgrade, so you’ll have to go to the HP downloads section and get the latest firmware for your HP printer model, then restart the printer. If you’re still getting the HP error code 49.4c02 after this, one of the many hardware parts inside the printer has malfunctioned and needs to be replaced. (or the printer itself, if you prefer)

HP Smart Test Error Code 303

This is one nasty error to get. Why? Because, while some errors have a straightforward fix and are usually related to the printer, the 303 HP error code means that your hard drive is failing in some way. So, the good news is that the 303 is not a printer issue, but rather an issue with your computer’s hard drive. The bad news is that you’ll have to replace that hard drive, so we suggest you back up all the data on it as quickly as possible before it malfunctions even harder, and then get a new one.

HP Recovery Manager Failed Error Code FFFFFF 15, also known as HP Error Code 0xe0ef0003

You’ve backed up your files through the HP Recovery Manager and are now getting the FFFFFF 15 error. That means one of two things: either your hard drive doesn’t have enough space to recover the backed-up files or there is an issue with the hard disk on your computer.

First, try clearing up a few gigabytes of space on your hard drive in safe mode, restart the computer and see if you’re still getting the error. If you are, run Command Prompt, type Chkdsk /f, press Enter and restart the computer. This will do a sweep that will verify the integrity of your drive.

If this still didn’t help, it means a mismatch occurred when you were changing your operating systems between Windows 7/8/10. Here, you are pretty much in no man’s land and the old Recovery is most likely useless. Some call this the HP Envy Error Code: the user wasn’t satisfied with the manufacturer’s operating system and thought they could do with an upgrade (or downgrade).

More often than not, however, this error translates to a failing or malfunctioning hard drive.

HP Error Code 0x83c0000a, also known as HP Error Code oxc4eb827f

The same error code can also come as HP Printer Error Code 0x83c0000a, HP OfficeJet 4630 Error Code oxc4eb827f, HP Envy 4500 Error Code oxc4eb827f and HP Envy 4500 Error Code 0x83c0000a nos_loader_app. Yep. Lot of aliases for this bad guy.

This is a very general error that has various general fixes that may or may not work for you, although you should try each of them. Like we said in the title, while this can be an HP Envy 4500 Error Code 0x83c0000a, it just as often happens on different models of HP machines. The first thing you should do is turn off the printer, unplug the power cable and wait 60 seconds before plugging the cable back in and turning the printer on. If the HP Error Code ox83c0000a nos_loader_app persists, you can try unplugging and reconnecting the router, and if it still persists, you can try realigning the ink cartridge as the printer is turning on, or otherwise check that the cartridge is properly placed if you haven’t done so already. Usually, you get these when something went wrong with the initial printer setup.

If none of these solutions worked, the printer almost certainly malfunctioned and is in need of repairs or replacement.

HP Printer Error Code 79

You’ve switched from ink to laser because it seemed more modern, but sheesh, the errors are still coming. The HP Printer Error Code 79 is exclusive to laser printers and is very easy to solve. It’s nearly always caused by one of two things: a print job being corrupted or the firmware being updated.

So you don’t lose your print job, we recommend updating the printer’s firmware to the latest version, then restarting both the computer and the printer. In our experience, this has most often been an HP P2015 error code. If you’re still getting the error, you’ll have to clear your print queue as it’s difficult to tell which of the print jobs in it is corrupted.

HP Printer Error Code 30

Usually, this error code will tell you that the printer isn’t activated even if it’s connected to both the wall plug and the computer. The issue is straightforward: there is a problem with your drivers, and it’s best to do a clean sweep even if you already have them installed. If only all of the entries on our HP printer Error Code list were this easy to solve.

Go to your Control Panel and find your printer, then uninstall it. Then, find any HP drivers on the computer you might have and remove them as well. Disconnect the printer from the computer and connect it again, then go to HP’s official web page, find your printer model and download the full driver suite for it.

HP Error Code 0xc19a0003, also known as HP Error Code 0xc19a0013 and HP Error Code 0x61011bed

This one is a straightforward ink cartridge issue. The first step to do to try and fix the HP Printer Error Code 0xc19a0013 is to turn off the printer, unplug it from the wall cartridge and turn it back on. This will cause the printer to realign the cartridges.

If the HP printer Error Code 0xc19a0003 still persists, you might have installed the ink cartridge incorrectly and should check your HP printer manual in order to see you got that part right. Maybe getting HP Instant Ink could be a solution. If the cartridge is aligned properly, that means it’s either low on ink (which you can verify through your computer on either Windows or Mac) or the cartridge is damaged or faulty. Since this is purely an HP printer Error Code, we suggest you check our guide on why remanufactured HP Ink Cartridges can sometimes cause this.

There is a slight chance that updating your drivers might help in case they’re outdated, but don’t hold your breath. And, as a last resort, you can try cleaning or replacing the InkJet’s printhead, as it’s possible that an overly-dirty printer head can cause this issue. These errors also tend to pop up when the printheads are failing or broken down.

HP Printer Error Code 0x6100004a

Depending on your fortune, this is either caused by a paper jam, an ink cartridge, or a printer failure. Isn’t our HP printer Error Code list PDF mysterious? To keep things on the bright side, first, try removing all of the papers from the printer and then inserting a new one to see if you’re still getting the error. If you are, turn off the printer, remove the ink cartridges, turn it back on and perform a hard reset, then insert the cartridges and do a test print. While you’re there, check the HP ink cartridge to make sure it didn’t break down.

If you’re still getting the error, you can try all of the general solutions mentioned in our troubleshooting your HP printer section. If none of them help, there is a hardware malfunction going on. If the cartridges look okay, our first guess would be that the HP drum unit is failing you.

HP Error Code biohd-8, also known as HP Error Code biohd-2

The biohd-8 is a hardware failure issue, similar to the HP Smart Test Error Code 303. The reason we haven’t grouped this up with that one is that, while most cases of an HP Error Code biohd 8 mean that the hard drive is failing, certain users have also reported this to be a motherboard issue. Therefore, if you’re getting this error, it could either be the hard drive or the motherboard, as opposed to the HDD-specific 303. You can verify whether the HDD is failing through various diagnostic tests, like the one available in the system BIOS.

Whichever it is, you’ll want your data backed up on another drive as quickly as possible before either sending the computer for repairs or getting a replacement part yourself.

HP Error Code 601

The 601 is an issue with the battery on your HP laptop. Use the HP Battery Check tool to figure out what’s going on. It will either tell you that it’s functioning correctly but needs to be calibrated, or confirm that it’s failing and you need a replacement.

Before sending the battery or the laptop off, however, try uninstalling the Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery and delete the driver when it asks you to do so. Restart the computer and you will be asked to reinstall the laptop’s battery. If you’re still getting the error, it’s probably time for a replacement.

HP Error Code 3f0

This is another one of those general errors that are tough to figure out and are not related to the printer, but rather the computer. This ain’t no HP DesignJet error code: you aren’t being allowed to turn on the computer! Whenever you try to boot it, you get the nasty 3f0.

There is some good news here: it’s almost always related to your HP computer’s hard drive, so you’ll know what to look for.

The first thing you want to do is enter BIOS as the computer is booting and ensure that your hard drive is set as the primary booting device. If that doesn’t do it, you might want to reset all the BIOS settings to default. In general, the HP 3f0 error code error means that your hard drive can’t be found by the computer, so you could check that it’s properly connected manually (unless doing so will void your warranty). If you’re still getting the 3f0 after all this, it means you need a new hard drive.

HP Error Code 0xc0000225, also known as HP Error Code 0xc0000034 and HP Error Code 0xc000000f

This is a less common error that prevents your PC from loading up and tells you that it needs to be repaired. Don’t panic, though, as the repairing is usually done on the software instead of the hardware side. That’s right. Finally, something else other than an HP hard drive error code.

Depending on the Windows version you have, download the appropriate Windows repair tool and create a bootable USB drive with it on another computer. Turn off the computer that’s giving you the 0xc0000225 error, insert the USB drive and plug it back on, then enter BIOS as it’s loading and choose the USB drive as your primary booting device.

After the repairing process is done, you’ll need to reset the primary booting device in the BIOS back to your Windows hard drive. You can also create a bootable repair tool with a DVD and use the DVD drive as the primary bootable device for the repairing process, but really, who’s using DVDs nowadays?

HP Error Code 0xc000021a, also known as HP Error Code 0xc0000185

The 0xc000021a is similar to the error above, but not exactly the same. It’s generally indicative of a Windows issue, be it corruption or something else. Just to make sure, once you’ve been stuck with the 0xc000021a error, restart the PC and quickly tap the ESC button to go to an HP Startup Menu that offers a Diagnostics Tool. Use it to verify that all of the hardware is working. If it’s not, it’s repairs time.

If it is, reboot the computer and hit the ESC button again. Depending on how diligent you were before, you will either have the option to perform a recovery through HP’s Recovery Manager tool or Windows’ own System Restore. If you don’t have either recovery, you will have to boot the PC with the Windows installation media to try and fix the damage. If it can’t be fixed, it’s time for a fresh Windows install.

HP Error Code 0xc00000e9

Again similar to the above, but not exactly the same. This tends to happen due to an improperly removed flash drive or a poorly installed Windows update, especially when upgrading your Windows version. This means you’ll have to turn to Windows Recovery or the HP Management Tool again. We recommend the first option if possible, as Windows tends to create a Recovery Point before every update.

HP Printer Not Activated Error Code 30 Solution

The reason behind the 30 error is an issue with your printer’s drivers, in the sense that the printer needs to be updated. This issue can appear suddenly due to some registry issues. Fortunately, the solution to this error is quite simple.

To resolve this problem turn your printer off and then on again. On your Windows computer, go into the Device Manager section within your Control Panel and locate the printer on the list of hardware that appears. On Windows 10 and 11 you can simply type in “Device Manager” after opening the Start menu. Inside, locate the “Print queues” and expand it, as this is where all of your printers will be located. Select the printer you are having issues with, right-click on it and then click on Update Driver. On the following window select “Search automatically for drivers”, as this will allow your system to look for the latest driver online.

HP Printer Error Code 41 Solution

The HP Error 41 indicates that there are stuck print jobs in the print queue. This is a rather common error with a fairly simple solution.

To fix this issue you will need to restart the Print Spooler service within your Windows’ active processes. To do this, click on your Start menu and type in Services. In the next window locate the Print Spooler service. You can easily do this by simply starting to type “Print Spooler” and you will see it highlighted. Right-click on the service and click on Stop, then right-click on it once again and click on Start. With this, you have effectively restarted your Print Spooler service, which is a common solution where your printer seems to be misbehaving. Restart your computer for a good measure and you should now have a working printer.

HP Printer Error Code 49 Solution

Also appears as 49.WX.YZ

Error 49 appears on HP printers that are having firmware issues; more precisely, the printer is unable to perform the task you requested, mostly because of software issues. This error as per design is not as common, since the firmware is always tested thoroughly across a wide range of devices before release. It is a common occurrence when using third-party plugins and other software not designed by HP, indicating incompatibility with the printer.

In order to resolve the 49 service error on an HP printer, it is first necessary to power cycle the device. This means that you need to turn your printer off and unplug the power cable from the printer. Let it sit like that for at least a minute and only then plug the power cable back in and power it on.

If the error is still there, you are dealing with a persistent error that requires a bit more of your effort to resolve. First, make sure that your printer is plugged directly into the wall outlet rather than into a surge protector. Also, check the data cable as it needs to be firmly connected. Reset your printer several times and check if the error still persists. If it does, you will most likely need to install the latest firmware which can be found on HP’s website. Fortunately, HP has made this process easy with its FutureSmart program. Simply find your printer model, locate the latest firmware and install it by following the on-site instructions.

HP Printer Error Code 49.4 Solution

Also manifests as 49.4C02

The 49.4 C02 Service Error is a common error on HP printers, indicating that there is an issue with an ongoing print job.

In order to resolve this problem, it is necessary to clear the printer’s queue. This is done by turning the printer off and unplugging both the power cord as well as the data cable. Let your printer stay in that state for at least a minute, which is enough time to clear the queue. After about a minute, plug the power and data cable back into the printer and try printing again.

If the issue persists your printer might need a firmware upgrade. Fortunately, HP’s FutureSmart program has made this easy. Follow the on-site instructions for your printer model to upgrade its firmware successfully.

HP Printer Error Code 50.2 Solution

Can also appear as 50.4, 50.5, 50.6, 50.7

The HP 50.2 fuser error appears when there is an apparent problem with the fuser and its inability to warm up fast enough. This is indeed one of the most common errors plaguing HP printers.

To solve this problem you will need to deal with the fuse itself, which is fortunately not a complex procedure. Fuses are consumables and there are many places online where you can source the part you need. The fuse replacement procedure is normally performed two to three times during the lifetime of the printer.

Start by turning your printer off and unplugging both the power and data cables from it. Check the manual for your device specifically to locate the position of the fuser. Remove it from its mount and put it back in. Check if the printer shows the 50.2 error still.

If you are still experiencing the issue, you will need to replace the fuser unit. Feel free to browse for your HP printer model’s fuser unit and purchase it. The replacement is done in the same way as reseating the old unit.

HP Printer Error Code 79 Solution

The HP 79 service error is a fairly benign problem, indicating a temporary issue either with the printer’s DIMM (Dual Inline Memory Module) or its firmware.

In order to solve this simple problem, it is necessary to simply turn the printer off, unplug all of the cables, including the data cable, and let it sit like that for at least a minute. Once this time has passed you can plug all of the cables back into the printer and test to see if the error has dispersed.

If the above solution did not work, you will need to try firmware reinstallation and/or DIMM replacement.

HP Printer Error Code 0x00829C98 Solution

Can also appear as ERROR CODE 0X00829C98 HW WATCHDOG C on your printer’s display.

The first plausible step in resolving the HP error code 0x00829C98 is to perform a hard reset of your printer. Turn your printer on and wait for it to finish any tasks in the queue. It should be idle for at least a minute. In this scenario, while your printer is still ON, unplug the power cord from the back of your printer and wait for a while. If your printer’s power cable was plugged into an extension cord, it is recommended to not use this equipment as it on its own can cause the above error to occur. Connect the power cable back into the printer and turn your device on if it didn’t do so on its own. Wait until it is idle again before attempting to check if the error has been resolved.

HP Printer Error Code 0x6100004a Solution

The HP 0x6100004a service message indicates an issue with either the printer’s firmware, obstruction on the carriage rail, or a blocked ink cartridge.

In order to solve this issue, you might need to cover a number of bases here. The easiest first step to take is to perform a hard reset of the entire printer. This is done by turning the printer on and allowing it some time to reach an idle state. This means that the printer should not make any sounds for at least a minute. Once it achieves this state, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer while it is turned on. While you are at it, also remove any power extension cables. Let the printer stay in this state for at least a minute and then plug the power cord back into the printer and directly into the wall outlet. This is potentially the easiest and fastest solution to this issue.

If the error message still appears, it is time to take it one step forward and clean the ink cartridges. In order to do this, it is important that you are aware of the dangers of damaging the components that make up the ink cartridge, which can cause additional expenses. Make sure to follow the safety guidelines specified in your product’s manual.

In order to clean the ink cartridges, you will first need to turn your printer off and unplug its power source from the wall outlet. For a good measure, press the power button on your printer to disperse residual electricity. Then, open the ink cartridge cover and inspect the area around the ink cartridges for any potential spillage. If you notice any black ink in this proximity, it is time for a good clean anyway. Take all of the cartridges out of their mounts and place them on a piece of paper towel. Use rubbing alcohol, cotton swabs, and microfiber cloths and clean all of the contact points thoroughly on the ink cartridge and printer-s end. Let everything air dry for a bit and reinstall all of the parts.

HP Printer Error Code 0x61011bed Solution

Also appears as an ID-0x61011bed error on your printer’s display.

The HP 0x61011bed Service Error is caused by an empty or faulty ink cartridge. It can also indicate an error in the ink system.

In order to get the upper hand on the 0x61011bed HP printer error, there are a couple of things you can do. First, perform a power reset, which means that you need to have the printer turned on and on idle. This means that there should be no incoming tasks and the printer should not operate at all. Once it achieves this state, pull the power plug out of the back of your printer while it is turned on. Wait for at least a minute and then plug the power cord back into the back of your printer. In case the printer does not turn on automatically, press the power button and test the printer for the error.

If the error is not cleared by performing the steps above, it might be necessary to clean the ink cartridges thoroughly. For this, you will need a couple of items, such as a clean microfiber cloth (or any other that leaves no lint), cotton swabs, and a bottle of distilled water/rubbing alcohol. Dampen the cloth and absorb all excess ink around the contact points of the ink cartridges on both ends (the ink cartridge itself as well as the printer ink cartridge mount). Then, get the cotton swab and dunk it in the distilled water or rubbing alcohol, and finish off the cleaning of the contacts. Let everything air dry for at least 5 minutes before assembling it all back.

HP Printer Error Code 0x80240017 Solution

The 0x80240017 error indicates that there is an issue with your printer’s drivers and their inability to be properly installed under the Windows system. It has more to do with managing your Windows updates rather than tinkering with your printer, which means that your printer is working fine, but requires some assistance on the Windows side of things.

To get around this problem, you will need to manually install the required driver by visiting HP’s official website and looking for the driver file for your printer model over there. Download and install the latest driver from that package and then copy and paste the following in your Windows Explorer’s File Explorer browser: “%windir%\SoftwareDistribution\Download”. Delete anything related to your HP product and then reboot your computer. To confirm everything has been installed correctly, go to the Windows Update program and select Check for Updates. It should show that there are no updates required for your printer.

HP Printer Error Code 0x8024200b Solution

The 0x8024200b error means that there is a problem with your HP printer’s driver update within the Windows operating system. This is yet another one in the series of errors that do not indicate any issue with your printer, rather than with your Windows environment.

In order to solve this issue, you will need to reset the updated components that correlate with your printer within your Windows installation. It might be possible that this error was caused by some sort of damage done to your system files. To attempt repair, you can use the SFC scan method first. Begin by opening up a Command Prompt window (press Start and type in “cmd”). Within the Command Prompt window type in the “SFC/SCANNOW” command and press the Enter key. At the end of the process, you will get an overview of the process and the number of scanned and repaired files.

If the above method did not work you might want to try the SDF (Software Distribution Folder) clean. To do this, navigate to your Windows folder (usually on the C: drive) and locate the SoftwareDistribution folder. Open it to find the Download folder and delete all files and folders within. Restart your computer and check if the error was fixed.

HP Printer Error Code 0x83c0000a Solution

Might also appear as ERROR CODE 0x83C0000A NOS_LOADER_APP on your printer’s display.

The HP printer error code 0x83C0000A alerts the user about an issue with the ink cartridge or ink delivery system.

The first thing to do in this case is to try a printer hard reset. In HP’s case, this is done by turning the printer on, letting it initialize and reach an idle state, and then forcefully unplugging the power cord from behind the printer. Let your printer stay in this state for at least a minute before plugging the power cable into it and powering it on to test if the error has been solved.

In case the issue is still present, you can try tricking your printer a bit. In some cases, these types of errors are triggered with no valid solution for the issue it presents, but overwriting that error with another one might just do the trick. The easiest way to do this is to open up your cartridge container and try to print. The printer will post a different error, letting you know that the cartridge container is opened. Turn it off and on again and repeat this process up to five times. Finally, restart your printer as described in the paragraph above and check if the error was cleared.

HP Printer Error Code 0xb30581b9 Solution

The 0xb30581b9 error appears as a consequence of your printer’s inability to properly complete its startup sequence. Before the error message appears on your printer’s display, you will most likely experience blank flashes on the display itself.

In order to solve this issue, you will need to perform a hard reset of your printer. To do this, turn your printer on and wait a bit, as the device needs some time to initialize itself. After a minute or so, forcefully unplug the power cable from the rear of the printer. Let the printer stay like this for at least five minutes and then plug it back in and power it on. Check to see if the error has been resolved.

If the issue persists, your printer will require servicing as there are most likely hardware faults within that cannot be resolved without professional tools and assistance.

HP Printer Error Code 0xb32fff1c Solution

The 0xb32fff1c error indicates a generic failure within your printer that can be easily resolved by resetting it.

In order to solve this issue, it would be best to first try and hard reset your printer. In the case of HP devices, this is done by turning the printer on, as usual, waiting for it to complete its initiation sequence. The printer should be idling before proceeding. Once it is in an idle state, forcefully pull out the power cord from the back of the printer. Wait for at least a minute before plugging the power cord back into the printer to check if the error has been resolved.

If the error is still present, you will most likely need to install the latest drivers for your printer. First, uninstall the current drivers by going into Control Panel and Programs and Features. Here, select all HP-related software and uninstall. Then, visit the official HP website and browse for your HP printer’s model driver.

HP Printer Error Code 0xc19a0003 Solution

The 0xc19a0003 error code indicates a possible problem with your HP printer’s printhead that may require component servicing. However, there are a couple of things you can try on your own to remedy the issue.

In order to resolve this problem, you will need to take a couple of steps. First, open up the cartridge container and remove all of the ink cartridges. With the printer being on and the ink cartridge cover still opened, unplug the power cord from the rear of the device and wait for at least a minute. After this time, plug the cord back into the printer, making sure that the other end of the cable is going directly into a wall outlet, rather than a surge protector. Allow the printer to initialize itself and confirm that the error has been resolved.

If the printer still shows the error message, you will need to take the printer into a service workshop to have it inspected and possibly serviced.

HP Printer Error Code 0xc19a0013 Solution

Might also appear as Missing or Failed Printhead on your HP printer’s display.

The 0xc19a0013 service code indicates an obvious issue with the printer’s printhead. Depending on your printer’s model, you might see the extended message: “The Printhead appears to be missing, not detected, or incorrectly installed.” Printhead-related errors usually indicate an issue that needs to be resolved by a qualified technician, but there are a few steps you can take on your own that might alleviate the issue.

In order to resolve this problem, you can first try to perform a hard reset on your printer. When it comes to HP printers, this is done by turning the printer on, letting it complete its initialization process, and only then unplugging the power cable from the back of the machine or the wall outlet. Keep in mind that extension cords and surge protectors might cause these types of issues, as well as many others, so when troubleshooting always uses a wall outlet. Once you pulled the plug on your printer, let it sit like that for at least a minute. Plug it back in, power it on and check to see if the error message has been eliminated.

If the error still shows up, there is not much you can do rather than contact your service center for the next steps.

HP Printer Error Code 0xc4eb827f Solution

The 0xc4eb827f error message indicates a problem with the ink system of your printer, whether this was related to the printhead or the ink cartridges.

In order to solve this problem, you will first need to perform some basic maintenance to rule that out as an issue. Turn on your printer and open up the cartridge container. This will make the cartridge carriage present the cartridges in their service position, allowing you to take them out and clean all of the contacts on both ends with cotton swabs and rubbing alcohol. Install everything back and perform a test print to see if the error message has been resolved.

In case the error is still present, there is a chance your ink cartridges will need replacement. We always recommend using genuine HP cartridges for your printer, particularly if the reliability of operation is high on your priority list. Purchase a set of genuine ink cartridges and replace your old ones, this will most likely solve your problem.

HP Printer Error Code 59.c0 Solution

The reason for the 59.c0 error to occur is a bad motor or an issue with the developer’s motor rotation.

In order to resolve this issue, you can first try to power cycle the printer as this is known to be an effective solution (at least temporarily) for a wide array of HP printer-related errors. To do this, you will need to have your printer turned on and idling. Once this condition is met, you need to unplug the power cable from the back of the printer while it is still running. Leave your printer in this state for at least a minute, plug the power cable back into it and check to see if the error has been resolved.

If the issue persists, you can try removing all toner cartridges and put them back in one at a time, power cycling the printer between each step. If this does not work, you will need to contact an HP printer service center to see if something can be done to repair your printer.

HP Printer Error Code b305dff9 Solution

The b305dff9 HP printer error indicates an issue with your printer’s connectivity, in the sense that it is having difficulties receiving printing tasks.

The most effective solution to this problem is power cycling. One power cycle suggests the following procedure. You need to have your printer turned on and in an idling state, make sure that it is not initializing itself. Once it is completely idle, pull the power cable from the back of the device or out of the wall outlet. Keep in mind that it is recommended for you to use a standalone wall outlet, rather than a surge protector or an extender cable, which might eliminate a lot of these types of errors on its own. Repeat the power cycling procedure up to five times, this should resolve the HP printer error b305dff9 you are having.

HP Printer Error Code c9c70000 Solution

Might also manifest as a “The printer was not shut down properly.” message on your printer’s display.

The c9c70000 hp printer error indicates a generic printer error that can be easily resolved in most cases.

To resolve this problem, it is recommended to perform a couple of power cycling procedures that can reset your printer’s memory banks and eliminate the error in case it is a minor case of the problem. To do this, you will need to turn on your HP printer and let it initialize itself completely, running idle. Once it reaches this state, unplug the power cable from the rear of the device. You can leave all other cables intact. Wait for at least a minute and then plug the power cable back into the printer. Turn it on, wait for initialization to complete, and perform a test print. Check if the error message has dispersed.

If the issue persists, you will most likely need to update your printer’s drivers and/or firmware. Visit this link to find out more about how this is done for your HP printer model.

HP Printer Error Code d80774ec Solution

The d80774ec code on the HP printer indicates the printer’s inability to connect to Web Services.

In order to solve this problem, you can take a couple of steps before contacting HP support. First, perform a couple of power cycling procedures for your printer. This means that you need to turn the printer on and let it initialize itself completely. Then, pull the power cable from the back of your printer and let it stay like that for at least a minute. Note that it is recommended to use a wall outlet directly, rather than a surge protector, especially when troubleshooting the issue. Once the minute has passed, plug the power cable back into the printer and check to see if the error is gone.

If the error is still there, you might be having issues with your router. Consider restarting your router if possible, or try re-establishing the connection on your printer’s end. This might solve the problem as well.

HP Printer Error Code E0 Solution

The E0 HP printer error is indicating an issue with one or all of the installed cartridges.

In order to return your printer to a working state, it will be necessary to replace one of the ink cartridges in your printer. In these types of situations, we recommend replacing the entire set of cartridges with a new, genuine one, as you might have issues determining the exact ink cartridge that is causing the issue. Turn your printer off and unplug the power cable. Open up the ink cartridge compartment. Remove the old ink cartridges, use cotton swabs and rubbing alcohol to clean the ink cartridge contacts, and install new ink cartridges into your printer.

If the issue still persists, it might be necessary to do a full power cycle on your HP printer. This is done by turning the printer on and forcefully unplugging the power cord from the back of the device. Let the printer stay in this state for at least five minutes before plugging the power cable back in and turning it on for a test print.

HP Printer Error Code E1 Solution

The E1 error in the HP printer indicates a mismatch in the print job’s requirement in terms of paper format and the actual format of the paper which is loaded in the tray. This is quite common to occur when printing from mobile devices and is quite simple to solve.

To get the upper hand on this error, turn your printer on and wait until it goes completely idle. Once this state is achieved, forcefully unplug the power cable from the back of the printer (while keeping the printer turned on). Let it sit like that for at least a minute and only then plug the cable back into the printer. Turn it on and wait for the printer to initialize itself. It is important to let it do its job before attempting to perform a test print.

If the error remains present, there might be an obstruction in one of the paper rollers. This usually means that there is a piece of paper stuck between the rollers which might cause this error to occur. Turn your printer off and unplug the power cable before proceeding to check all of the available compartments for loose paper.

HP Printer Error Code E2 Solution

The reason behind the HP printer E2 error is the wrong type of paper in the loader, mismatching with the task at hand. For example, you might want to print an A4 document, while the printer thinks it has envelopes loaded in the tray. As a result, the printer will print out a single page describing the E2 error.

In order to solve the E2 error on an HP printer, you need to cancel the printing job by pressing the X button on the printer itself. This will clear the printing queue of any incoming tasks. Once this is done, it is simply the matter of matching the paper in your paper tray with the printing task you are looking into completing. Match these two together and you will be good to go.

HP Printer Error Code E3 Solution

Might appear as Carriage Jam on your printer’s display.

The reason behind the E3 error in the HP printer is a blockage somewhere along the length of the cartridge carrier.

In order to resolve this issue, said blockage will need to be dealt with. Begin with the easiest and fastest possible solution by visually inspecting the cartridge carrier. To do this, you will first need to turn off your printer and unplug its power cord. Then, open up the cartridge compartment and carefully look at the entire length of the cartridge carrier. Remove any foreign material as the carrier needs to be clean in order to operate correctly.

If the error was not resolved with the above solution, it might be necessary to clean the carrier in more detail, using a cotton swab and a bit of rubbing alcohol. Reset your printer by turning it on and then unplugging the power source while it is still running. Let it stay in that state for at least a minute and try printing again.

HP Printer Error Code E4 Solution

The HP printer E4 error appears in cases of true or false paper jams. In most HP printer models the blinking power LED will accompany the E4 message on the display. Before attempting any repairs it is important to turn off the printer and unplug the power cord to prevent damage to your printer as well as injuries on your part.

In order to assess this problem, you will need to clear the paper jam. Depending on your HP printer model, the removal of stuck paper will differ to a certain extent. In most cases, you will find service ports that allow access to the rollers, around where you can expect to get some paper folded in a way that prevents the printer from working properly. However, paper can actually become an issue in other areas, so if you removed the paper from the typical areas, and the HP printer E4 error persists, you will most likely need to remove some of the panels to gain a better view of the situation.

Once you resolve the problem, it would be a good idea to manually clean the rollers themselves, as this can prevent future paper jams from occurring around the rollers themselves. Use a cotton swab with a bit of alcohol on either end to pass through the entire length of the roller and remove any oils or other types of residue that may cause the paper to stick during operation.

HP Printer Error Code E8 Solution

The presence of the HP printer E8 error indicates a hardware failure. All of the lights on the printer are on.

In order to solve this issue, there is not much you can do other than re-initializing your printer. Turn your device off and disconnect the power cable. Let it sit like that for a while, at least 5 minutes. After this, plug the power cable back into your printer and power it on. Wait for the printer to initialize completely before attempting a test print.

If the problem is still there, you will need to contact HP customer support as it will most likely require servicing.

HP Printer Error Code E9 Solution

The HP E9 error indicates that your printer’s ink system requires maintenance.

If you need to resolve this problem, you can try the following. This error is quite easy to resolve in most occurrences, as it just requires the ink cartridge carrier to move along the railing a couple of rounds. To force your printer to do this, simply open the ink cartridge compartment while it is turned on. This will bring your cartridge carrier into the service position and back, providing the needed movement and clearing.

In case the error is still present, clean the ink cartridge rails using a clean microfiber cloth and repeat the upper steps up to 5 times, clearing the railing every time. This should get everything off, allowing proper operation of your printer’s ink cartridge system.
