La cuantificaci�n de los �cidos grasos de cadena muy larga es fundamental en el diagn�stico de varias enfermedades peroxisomales, en particular de aquellas donde se afecta la β-oxidaci�n peroxisomal de los �cidos grasos. En este trabajo se describe la implementaci�n de un m�todo anal�tico para la determinaci�n de estos marcadores en suero por cromatograf�a gaseosa acoplada a espectrometr�a de masas. Adem�s, se analizaron muestras de pacientes con impresi�n diagnostica de adrenoleucodistrofia ligada al cromosoma X. Se obtuvieron las condiciones experimentales adecuadas para la separaci�n y cuantificaci�n de los �cidos grasos C22:0, C24:0 y C26:0 en suero, que son marcadores bioqu�micos de varias de enfermedades peroxisomales. La aplicaci�n de este m�todo permiti� confirmar el diagn�stico de tres pacientes con impresi�n diagn�stica de adrenoleucodistrofia ligada al cromosoma X y su aplicaci�n en la pr�ctica permitir� al sistema cubano de salud contar con un nuevo par�metro de laboratorio en el diagn�stico de las enfermedades peroxisomales.REFERENCIAS (EN ESTE ARTÍCULO)
