That depends on the year... Kompressor? Some more details will help. Is it W202 (up to 1999)? If W203 (1999-2007) then early C200 were 2 litre, later all 4-cyl petrol cars i.e. C180/C200/C230 were 1.8L... newer W204 (2007-) did even better, with some late BlueEfficiency C180 having 1.6L engine... so need to know model and year. But with MB the numbers do not mean anything really.... C320 and C350 have 3.0L engines for example... so quite possible that your C200 has 1.8L engine. Last edited: Oct 14, 2010 nigel cross

I had a 2005 c180 kompressor, the c-classes of that year c180,c200,c230 were all 1.8ltr supercharged the only difference being slightly increased bhp between each not sure by how much exactly but i'm sure someone else on here will know;) OP OP S

C200K then - that would be the M271 engine with 1.8L capacity. See also here: http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/engine/25868-m271-engine-tuning.html The C180K had essentially the same engine as the C200K, but the one on the C200K was tuned for more bhp - 163bhp for the C200k as opposed to just 143bhp for the C180K. The C230K with the same engine was tuned to 193bhp. Consequently fuel consumption for the C200K suffers compared to the C180K. But it's a lovely car, and goes quite fast considering it's weight (~1.5t) and rather small 1.8L engine. I do like mine :) W

A remap might improve efficiency and increase power. As for economy, a lot of that is down to your driving style! markjay

So it is not practical to convert a 180K engine to 200K engine as the cylinder head will have to be changed (or perhaps a thicker head gasket used?) and the kompressor replaced (or at least the pulley). It is still possible to get a bit more power from the C180K, but not convert it to 100% C200K. You must log in or register to reply here.
