4 You should use a suitable metal lubricant.

A drilling paste or lubricant oil will reduce friction whilst drilling which will help reduce heat build up.

5 Use appropriate pressure.

Avoid using too much pressure as this will cause excessive heat build up.

6 Wear suitable protection.

Finally you should always wear eye protection when drilling. Also depending on how long you will be working for you may want to wear ear protectors also.
