yampug Y Hi hope this is in the right place, i'm currently replacing camshaft and tappets in a golf mk4 gt tdi i've read that it is advisable to replace the engine mount bolts as they are stretch bolts could some one recommend where i can order these online? seen a few posts mentioning some where called tps but it appears to be trade only. is this going to be a local dealer only part? is it just the three bolts which connect the mount to the engine that need replacing or the vertical bolts joining the mount together as well? part numbers would be great if any one has them, is there an easy way to get to the awkward horizontal bolt managed to get it off ok with a uni joint and socket but would like to access it better when re torquing how much can you move engine up and down with left mount removed with out stressing other mounts? thanks steve #1 · Dec 2, 2012 Hi hope this is in the right place, i'm currently replacing camshaft and tappets in a golf mk4 gt tdi i've read that it is advisable to replace the engine mount bolts as they are stretch bolts could some one recommend where i can order these online? seen a few posts mentioning some where called tps but it appears to be trade only. is this going to be a local dealer only part? is it just the three bolts which connect the mount to the engine that need replacing or the vertical bolts joining the mount together as well? part numbers would be great if any one has them, is there an easy way to get to the awkward horizontal bolt managed to get it off ok with a uni joint and socket but would like to access it better when re torquing how much can you move engine up and down with left mount removed with out stressing other mounts? thanks steve Sort by Oldest first Oldest first Newest first Most reactions #2 · Dec 2, 2012 Just ring the dealer. You'll need the 2 for leg to mount, 3 for mount to support and 3 for support to block. I found it easiest to remove the power steering reservoir and the coolant expansion tank so there's more room to play with. So best to pick up some PSF and G13 coolant at the dealers as well. If you remove the dogbone mount you can move the engine up about 8" which is all you need. Dogbone bolts need replacing as well [Y] #3 · Dec 2, 2012 Oh and what's your engine code? #4 · Dec 2, 2012 thanks for your reply stu engine code i think is arl #5 · Dec 2, 2012 just emailed local vw dealer in shirley southampton for price of bolts. wonder if i'll get a response. last time i went in there for parts it was a fiat dealers in about 1998!
