hello Everyone,

sorry if this has had been posted before but if it has I can’t find the thread. I have recently bought a 3 year old 28,000 mike 5 door dsg golf r and noticed the same noise as on the video.

There also seems to be what what I can only describe as a bubbling/boiling type noise coming from the rear centre of the engine bay as well but unfortunately I couldn’t attach the video.

does anyone have some advice they could give me?

thanks

Shaun

Totally normal. For those of us old enough, it sounds like a line printer. Also, when you first unlock or open the door, you hear a quick electronic/mechanical noise. That is the fuel pump getting pr

My Audi used to do this and it would take a good few minutes before it went fully silent so I think this is normal?

Normal.  Recently described by Bob on here as having R2D2 living under the bonnet which sums it up perfectly!

I am guessing it's the pump that circulates oil around the turbo bearings. If I recall correctly it continues to run for a while after you switch off the engine. Does it do it after a 'hard drive' or all the time?

Thank you all for the responses. I don’t recall it happening for the first few days after getting the car but since then it has been after each time I have driven the car. Which is a minimum of 30 minutes each time and pretty much regular driving.
