F850GS Vs. Africa Twin Vs. Tiger 800 | 2018 MY Review

BMW F850GS, Honda Africa Twin and Triumph Tiger 800 XCa – three of the best – and all of them are new models. The F850 was built from scratch – completely new engine, new frame, new suspension, a lot of new electronics, the fuel tank was moved from the rear to the front, the exhaust was moved to the right side and it got tubeless tires. There’s nothing similar to the outgoing model.

The Africa Twin also got a serious update for 2018 – ride-by-wire and riding modes and a fine-tuning to the engine. Although it doesn’t seem pretty much, if riding this new Africa Twin and the 2017 model side by side you’ll notice a lot of differences, especially when it comes to the throttle response. More than that, it comes in an anniversary version – the Adventure Sports – featuring a larger fuel tank, higher ground clearance and improved weather protection.

The Tiger 800 was also revamped for 2018. More power for the inline-three engine – 95 horsepower, new Off-Road Pro riding mode, a new dashboard better weather protection and more comfort.

So, which one is the best? We took them out for a four day ride in Romania. The first episode is focusing on street performance – handling and power delivery on curvy roads, comfort, suspension setup.

Which one is your favorite? The BMW F850GS, the Africa Twin Adventure Sports or the Tiger 800 XCa? Vote for it in our YouTube poll.
