There are 2 items that have plugs on them sitting in front of your passenger-side microfilter housing cover. One is the hood switch and the other is your AUC sensor. I bet buying a new one will clear the fault. The sensor rotates to remove. I just replaced my daughter's 08 328i AUC sensor and it's the exact same one we have.
