knowledge_6 K Just thought i'd start a thread to get more exposure and not add to the long thread about HID Conversions about the difference between H11A and H11B bulbs for HID conversions.. SO i got a set of Morimoto HIDs from Prolightz here in Canada.. It's cheaper for Canadians cause Prolightz is a master dealer for Moirimoto in Canada. shipping is $10 nation wide and no duties ; > So i was debating between the H11B and H11A bulbs so i called Morimoto directly and they recommended the H11B bulbs.. i asked what the difference was. So here is some clarification from them just in case people are wondering which one to buy. NOTE: BOTH will work! BUT... H11A - the ground wire that runs along the bulb is on the top of the bulb when inserted into the housing H11B - the ground wire that runs along the bulb is on the bottom of the bulb when inserted into the housing. Whats the difference? there will be a shadow that casts on the road/wall with H11A bulbs since the projector housing reflect the light upwards and due to that ground wire along the bulb u will see the shadow.. here is a youtube video that compares the two from TRS... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4rLhCHhCtY here is another video go to this link to see a comparison(this link the tech says Korean cars need h11a, which contradicts his statement about projector based headlights...the SFS has projectors and therefore would need h11b (according to Morimoto) https://youtu.be/G-qdyoPcReo?t=3m13s I am going on vacation for a couple weeks so install will be at the beginning of nov so will take pics and let you all know.
