Jcoppola33 J I'm ordering my hids and they ask which type I want h11a or h11b and I'm stumped. Which one do I need? Google has been no help so far. Go to www.theretrofitsource.com and spend a little more and get a 5 year warranty from a company based in Atlanta that has been in business since the 90's. #3 · May 11, 2015 The only thing I can find is same bulb, but slightly different connector. Both could work, but one may need very slight trimming to fit.. H11 uses a plug type connector that attaches to the bulbs. H11b uses pins that make contact when you twist the bulbs into the housing. So look to see if your current bulb looks like either description above.. #4 · May 12, 2015

Well actually that is where I am buying them from, morimoto hids for $150 #5 · May 12, 2015 I did not notice on my phone that they gave a chart to pick either A or B Image Taking out my headlights is a pain with my second battery, does anyone know from this? #6 · May 13, 2015 Great decision going with the Morimotos. I installed the 5K with the 55watt ballasts, they match my factory LED's perfectly. #7 · May 19, 2015 Got mine installed I went with 5500k on a 35 watt ballast and I guess the B bulbs are slightly more powerful or something and are only recommended for projectors. I'm very happy with the lights and the company, everything felt very high quality and I ordered them around 11:30 pm on Tuesday night and they showed up Friday morning on just the cheapest shipping! Thats from Atlanta to Boston btw but for $160 shipped I'm very happy and would recommend them. #8 · May 19, 2015 I have a 2008 GMC looks a lot like yours. I just bought new bulbs last week. I can get to the passenger side one fairly easy twist pull out of housing, and the bulb has like a blade on the end of it that will pull out then pushes back into the slot of the bulb holder. #9 · May 21, 2015 For the driver side I can usually just slip my hand in there and get the bulb out. I've found for the passenger side that if you don't want to remove the whole headlight housing that if you just remove the air box you have a lot more room to access the light bulb on that side. #10 · May 25, 2015

You have any pictures of your HID's? Im trying to decide between morimoto 5500k and 6500k to match the LED's and halos on my projectors lights. #11 · Sep 24, 2015 Did anyone actually figure out whether or not we need A's or B's? -DS #12 · Sep 24, 2015 I have my stock headlights out of my 08 sierra in my garage, I can pull them out of the box and take a look when I get home #13 · Sep 24, 2015

Standard H11's. H11B's are the same thing but with a different connector setup to solve space issues. #14 · Sep 24, 2015 With HID bulbs, the main difference between H11A and H11B is the position of the HID bulb's ground wire. Putting an HID H11A in place of an H11B will create a "keyhole" shadow in the light output pattern. Neither the Sierra nor Silverado uses an H11B Nick C. Status Not open for further replies.
